There is no justification, no excuse, for this man's actions. He is a sub human waste.
Every person is unique. Not everyone deals with situations and stress the same as others.
We cannot send men/women in to do the horrors of war and not expect to pay the human costs that are involved
I'm not saying that this is any wy excuses what he did, but we can't exactly act surprised about these things when they happen.

So it's torture in one scenario but not the other? Subjective torture?

Which is what? Enlighten me with your emotional response.

It should be noted that this young, disturbed Soldier was never trained in any capacity to interrogate any prisoner, let alone conduct "waterboarding".

He is a child abuser, period. The fact that the OP insinuates that he somehow learned this technique of interrogation on active duty is beyond ridiculous.

    Right here:

The title of the article was obviously meant to besmirch this dude because he is a veteran, not because he's some child abusing piece-a-****. He would be a child abusing piece-a-**** even if he hadn't ever served in the military.

Personally, I'm surprised that someone hasn't started blaming Bush, but it's still early.

Frankly, I'd have been perfectly happy to have posted "Piece of **** waterboards his own daughter". However, being new to the forum, I careful reviewed the rules for posting in the breaking news forum, which stated that I am required to submit the title of the article in question as the thread title. The fact that the man happens to have served in the military certainly makes the story more news worthy, as so much debate has focused on the technique of waterboarding as used by our forces, but the insinuation that my OP was intended to insinuate that he took his actions BECAUSE of his military service is patently false, and insulting.

I think it would have been just as newsworthy without that idiotic headline, but the reason for writing this article has nothing to do with some child abusing piece-a-**** submerging his kid's head underwater. Which, by the way, isn't waterboarding. It's water immersion, two different techniques.

Obviously.....ths difference is that the 4 year old is very likely to have information vital to the national intereests of the United States. She would...at 4 years old...have life or death information that would be critical to extract as soon as possible and under extreme duress if necessary.

Putting her on restriction was clearly not enough. It's obvious between the g and h in the alphabet she couldn't recite...that there was secret info on training camps and networks of murdering religious fanatics. Threatened with having no iPhone upon growing up, she started to crack but....only got to the f in the alphabet.

The difference is that KSM was an innocent Mosque assessment engineer who was praying for peace when Pakistan troops burst down his door and sold him to Americans for drug money. Whereupon the monster Bush threw him into a hole and stole his human rights.

This...girl...is clearly a traitor and a terrorist. The difference, Hatuey, is that most people don't care about this lil 4 year old Benedict Arnold. Your fears and sympathy in the correct place here, your query "which is what" quite sound
It was the Austrasians, that hewed on bravely through the thick of the fight, it was they who found and cut down the Saracen King.
