Gang interventionist gunned down after confronting tagger

So, you're advocating drawing down on and/or shooting kids armed with a can of spray paint? How realistic is that in 90% of America?
Gang interventionist gunned down after confronting tagger
This was the headline of the article you posted, now explain to me about the spray paint.

Spray paint & a pistol, but not a gang member?.....;)
Must have still been in training....

And on a related note, the NBA all-star game is here in Dallas this weekend.

Some taggers have been victimized by gangs in Los Angeles and now carry guns. :doh That doesn't make them gang members.

""He's a tagger, not a gang member," said Los Angeles Police Department Cmdr. Andrew Smith, who said investigators received help in identifying the suspect by Los Angeles Unified School police."

Okay, the suspect is caught.

He should be tried...as an adult.

If convicted, his sentencing should focus on his crime, not his age.

No special exception should be made to review his case, because he's being treated as an adult.

When he's eighteen, he moves from a juvenile dentention facility to the real prison, and put in general population like all the other murderers.

I see no sign of "special circumstances", so he's not eligible for the death penalty.

Life in prison, when he's sixteen.

He should be shown only as much mercy as he showed his victim. That is, none.

====

Oh, and btw: The "former gangster" who approached this nice young street artist? He was a god damned idiot for walking up to interfere. You would think he, of all people, would be aware of the danger.

That's what cops are for.

Finally, a post I can agree with.

Instead of destroying cocaine in Columbia, we should be making crack as fast as we can & distributing it in South Central, free, on a daily basis ....
It might take some time, but you will get the desired result......;)

What results are your desires, partisan ?

I have seen some really cool art done by taggers. You never know when your time is going to be. There will come a time when everybody will get run over by a bus and die, maybe.

The other night I went to a 7-11. It is three blocks from my house. As I pulled in I noticed an old beater parked in the handicapped spot with no handicap sticker..

I went into the 7-11 to get my coffin nails and on the way out I noticed a man of about 24 sitting in the car illegaly parked in the handicapped zone. He was wearing a lot of gold bling and just looked suspicious to me.

As I got into my car next to him a cop suddenly showed up. He started to question the man. Before I could blink the cop whips out his glock and is pointing it at the man's face, screaming at him, "Out of the car, down own your knees, and put your hands behind your neck", which the man did do.

The cop radioed for help and another cop arrived and searched the car. He pulled out a 45cal locked and loaded gun.

They arrested him and took him to jail.

This story could have had a completely different ending. I stayed there to watch the cops back in case the bad guy had a partner. It's has something to do with timing or something to do with fate. I don't know for sure.

I fail to see the point, other than a dumbass couldn't read or chose to willfully read a sign, & went to jail for more dumbassery......:3oops:
Sounds like a successful case of profiling....
Unwanted 'tagging' is property damage, no matter how you slice it....
It is an 'illustration' of the lack of social evoloution ofrom prehistoric cave dwellers.......;)

Did not you read the part that the suspect had a locked and loaded 45 cal. laying on his car seat? It's cops like that, that make the streets safe for dorks who don't appreciate them.

Next time you get mugged call your mommy and not 911.

missed that one?

Just carpet bomb gang areas. No warning, no heads up. Just take out whole neighborhoods. Think of the jobs cleaning up and rebuilding the areas into productive communities would bring in.

OH WAIT! That's cruel, evil, mean. We should keep going on as before and hope that they break the vicious cycle instead.

I would say maybe beyond cruel and mean (certainly evil), in that not everyone who lives in those areas are in gangs. So you're pretty much going to take out a **** load of innocent people to get to the handful of bad guys. Not something which can actually be done.

Again, doesn't apply to mutated animals.

I think anyone who would willingly throw out the rule of law, to dehumanize others to excuse their slaughter, and authorize the government to act against its own citizens without having to respect any of their rights or liberties is a mutated animal. Can we do the same to those folk so eager to kill other humans?

Although the gangs are the minority but they rule the neighborhood, these gangs sport their colors and make it no secret who they are. Although the fight should start with the people who live there.

Suppose the kid had a concealed carry permit, but just happened to be parked in the handicapped zone? I have seen cops parked in that zone, too. Now, that's carrying this right to work, law too far. Hiring a handicapped guy and make him a cop? Come on.
