I made fun of Republicans dying, Rush Limbaugh getting an ass pimple related heart attack and the provider of Mary-Jo Kopechne's last blowjob. No reason to be a hypocrite now.

Mr. Murtha, rot in **** you corrupt piece of ****.

Edit : Hahahah - All that reading about Jesse Helms confused me. Sowwies.

    May he rot in hell.
Are we talking about the same Murtha ? I did not see where/when he did any of those things above. He was against the Iraq war as a good number of reasonable Vets were.

I would like to see some real proof where Murtha did any of those things the OOP has accused him of.

***** If the Carter Justice Dept . were not afraid of ensnaring THEN Newark Mayor Kenneth Gibson in Abscam because a tough 1980 Election was on the horizon - well odds are John Murtha would have taken the bait - aka Cold Cash - on videotape and he would have gone the way of John Murphy, Ray Lederer, John Jenrette etc. - he lucked out . He was corrupt for 40 years and now finally he will hopefully be replaced by someone at least marginally ethical.

On this we agree Navy. People should be freely allowed to express their opinions. I don't adhere to the philosophy that people should refrain from speaking ill of the dead.

We are in substance..although not necessarily in application.
The day Ronald Reagan died I threw a "Ding dong the witch is dead" party and we all celebrated the fact that he no longer was breathing amongst us.

That's one of the great things about this country. We have the freedom to speak out...even about the dead.

Marine faces final hurdle in Haditha case

Cleared of wrongdoing at every step, officer must fight accusations again

Four years after the so-called "Haditha Massacre," cited by U.S. Rep. John Murtha, D-Pa., to publicly accuse U.S. Marines of being cold-blooded killers, Lt. Col. Jeffrey Chessani faces a board of inquiry tomorrow, hoping to clear his name yet again of alleged wrongdoing.

As WND reported, Chessani was the highest-ranking officer charged in the Haditha incident, when insurgents attacked U.S. Marines in Iraq while using civilians as shields. A series of investigations found nothing wrong until Murtha publicly accused the Marines of murdering Iraqis.

I'm not going to defend Murtha's comments about the Haditha massacre, but I will say one thing:

For people to claim that he put people in danger is quite ****ing silly. Do you people think that insurgents in Iraq are paying attention to the New York Times, NBC or FOX? Do you think they spend their days reading our newspapers scanning for something to be outraged at? It's just silly to claim that the comments of any politician other than somebody highly visible(like the POTUS) would actually reach the ears of insurgents on their side.

Please keep the hyperbole to a reasonable level. Thanks!

Well, at least now that Murtha is up there standing before Saint Peter and arguing his case for why he should get into heaven, he can say "well you know, you do have a point. I was really corrupt. I basically raped the American taxpayer so I could funnel billions into my district and I sold my soul for keep my office, but on the plus side, the nutjobs over at World Nut Daily did not like me so that should earn me a waver."

Your "proof" was nothing more than an opinion piece from an opinion media by an opinionator.... That is not proof. That is like asking Rush The Drug Addict if he wants the country to succeed in getting the economic hole while Obama is POTUS.

I won't crow about Murtha's death... but I won't pretend I liked or respected him, because I didn't. I think his behavior in the past decade has been contemptible. His absence from the public forum will improve my blood pressure at least.
