Europe have it's own army to play with?

Cool, then the US can ditch NATO and save beaucoup bucks.

The last time Germany had a real army things got really entertaining, didn't they?

Actually they already do.. They have some command structure in place to take coordinate European action. Especially with co-coordinated "special" forces that are maintained in national militaries to act under European command mainly.
Europe is illegally occupied by the US

Anyways.. I mean, American perspective on this would be interesting. Would you see it as helpful, dangerous, detrimental or what exactly?
I would say: good luck with that, lol.

Even if it happens, it won't last long. The EU, honestly, doesn't worry me anymore. Everytime unity comes to Europe, it tends to leave rather quickly, the last real unified europe being the Roman Empire, and it was only primarily the west part of europe.

I'm betting that their alligiance would be to whichever tin-pot dictator is calling the shots. I guess some folks are going to insist that there haven't ever been any tin-pot dictators come to power in Europe.
