    Once again, I totally agree.

The Republicans already have a problem with not having enough non-Whites in their ranks. They need to court minorities, not drive them away.

Many America White people have relatives who have married outside of the White race. All Lily White families are becoming more and more rare. The demographics alone are a reason to not tolerate this sort of talk.

Well, appointing two black Secretaries of State and one black party leader hasn't really done them much good.

I don't really like the idea of actively courting minorities, any more than actively courting white people. People should make decisions based on the merits of candidates, not based on whether they promise to give all black people a lollipop. Incidentally, I think part of the reason many minorities lean so heavily leftward is that they are more likely to fit other demographics which lean leftward; that is, black people are much poorer and much younger on average than white people.

I'm talking political strategy here, not anything else. It's bad political strategy to offend minority groups and their friends and relatives.

As far as Black people, their political unity is far too great to simply blame on age and income demographics.

Who are you, and what have you done with American? This whole thing you got lately with saying things I agree with is just disturbing.

Tancredo's comments could be interrpreted as simply a slam on Obama supporters, saying he got elected because his supporters were ignorant about US government and possibly about Obama himself. However, it is Tancredo, a guy who I got a distinctly racist vibe from in primaries. Tancredo came across to me as a guy who wasn't concerned about illegal immigration because of security or economics, but because he was afraid of losing a white majority or having the white culture influenced by latino immigrants. So, given his specific language and history, its not unfair to say his comments had a racist tinge to them.

I must also say, this "national convention" of the tea party is a joke. Most tea party activists are everyday folks, not the type to drop $500 to attend a convention and then listen a lineup of Republican speakers. This is an attempt to make some money and for a few Republicans to co-opt the tea party name.

I don't think most people fall with in the 2 categories, but why does everyone think that universal suffrage is an absolute good?

    Where does this come from?
Haven't we read enough history to understand that democracy is nothing more than a dictatorship of the majority.

I remember watching rachael maddow saying that the tea baggers had been hijacked by some money people. Fox gave it tons of free publicity and I think they have their fingers in the pie too. She did a number of shows about them but that was when they first appeared on the scene with the dude with an assault rifle and all that looney tune stuff.

Isn't it racist to presume that anyone proposing a literacy test for voters is singling out black people or some other ethnic minority?

Oh, you mean when dearest Rachel used a carefully edited clip of a man carrying his rifle to a meeting to link racism with anti-Obama people.

Then the reality was shown that the man carrying the weapons was blacker than your Messiah. You think maybe he was racist against half-breeds, or just that beloved Rachel is a really crappy and amateurish propagandist no one should watch?

No, they don't have a problem with that.

If non-whites want to believe the fantasy that being supported by money stolen from others is their ticket to freedom and prosperity, one can't blame the Republicans by rejecting that message and the people who heed it.

Do you complain that Alcoholics Anonymous meetings don't serve drinks? Then why complain that Republicans don't cater to parasites?
