    Unless the program is changed there is no possibility that it will " catch up". Remember there is going to be a tidal wave of baby boomers being eligible about to start.

    Actually this is the first year since the 70s that no cost of living increase is going to be applied to social security

    As it shouldn't. These CPI weighted increases have caused quite a bit of waste in the system.
    It is not very unreasonable that the rich should contribute to the public expense, not only in proportion to their revenue, but something more than in that proportion.
