Sequatchie County Sheriff Went Wild, Couple Says

CHATTANOOGA (CN) - A man claims Sequatchie County sheriff's officers threatened him with death at gunpoint and the sheriff felt up his wife in his presence without cause.

Shawn and Michelle Graham say men dressed in camouflage outfits stopped them as they drove on the highway, "thrust a loaded shotgun" through the window, "sometimes tapping his [the husband's] head with the barrel" and threatened to kill them by "blowing their f---- heads off."

After searching their car and finding "no weapons, no drugs, and no contraband," and with no reason to suspect them of anything, the Grahams say Sheriff Ronnie Hitchcock then searched Mrs. Graham "in an extended, intrusive and humiliating fashion. He reached inside the pockets of her clothing, making inappropriate contact with her breasts and groin areas. Handcuffed in the back seat of Sheriff Hitchcock's cruiser, Mr. Graham was forced to watch this unconstitutional spectacle," according to the complaint.
I don't think there are any words that can express my disgust at what happened here. Who the hell does that Sheriff employ for deputies, former Blackwater employees? I hope that, when this is over, the Sheriff's department only has enough money left to run it's operations out of an outhouse, which is probably where it belongs in the first place.

I do agree that the LE employees were out of line and something needs to be done. By your post, I take it you are hoping the victims get a large cash settlement. Do you realize that hurts the general public by using tax dollars to settle. Would it not be better to have the law enforcement people fired and brought up on whatever charges that would apply?

I believe that the plaintiffs suffered severe emotional damage from this incident, and are entitled to compensation.

both, imo. cash is king, and just firing the employees provides zero incentive for the county to ensure their employees tow the line.

In all fairness, we should hear the sheriff's side of this. He might have had a tipoff that his county was being invaded by libruls, and he had to check their disguise.

So if you lived in that state and country you are all for your tax dollars going to compensating the "victims"? Even if the county has insurance and insurance pays out. The money comes from the tax payers who has to pay the insurance.

I don't think they should lose their jobs...... I believe they should face the jury and be ushered off to prison. If more cops were imprisoned for violent acts against honest citizens you would see such behavior drop off big time. Why? We know what happens to cops in prison.
It is not very unreasonable that the rich should contribute to the public expense, not only in proportion to their revenue, but something more than in that proportion.

The sheriff and his accomplices should be tried, and if convicted, put in the general population of the state prison.

As former cops, they'll have a hell of a fun time.

    Firing?

Firing isn't enough. The Sheriff and his thugs need to be fired, and formally charged will kidnapping, unlawful imprisonment, sexual assault, harassment, terroristic threatening, menacing, and assault.

Then ... they need to be tried, found guilty, and sentenced to life in prison without parole... IN GENERAL POPULATION.
