yep revisionist on Repubs parts. No recession until Mar 01...
Why do you find it necessary to lie in order to make your points?

According to the BEA, the slowdown that was the "Bush recession" began in the 3rd quarter of 2000 and extended thru the thrid quarter of 2001. There was never really a 'recession' as there was no back-to-back quarters of negative growth.

There was no Recession? Then why did Bush and Repubs claim there was a Clinton recession? Bush left office pointing a finger and Repubs still do...AWESOME NEWS!!!!! There was no Clinton Recession!!!!!!!.

A recession involves more than two consecutive quarters of economic contraction. This did not happen on 2001.

Well by the standard textbook definition, we haven't had two consecutive quarters of economic contraction under Obama's watch either. He was sworn in in the middle of Q1, we had negative growth in Q2, and we were back in black in Q3.

Do any of you folks who are blaming Obama for the deficit have any actual solutions for what we can DO to prevent the deficit from ballooning over the next decade? I'm not talking about fanciful solutions like abolish all entitlement spending overnight. It's not going to happen, and even suggesting it just shows that you are unwilling to even consider realistic solutions. Nor am I talking about trivial solutions like earmark reform, which will have almost no effect on the budget. Actual solutions, please.

I suggested entitlement reform (specifically health care) to get our deficit under control, and was attacked from the right by two separate posters, one of whom criticized me for not wanting to immediately abolish all of them, and the other of whom dismissed it as even being a problem.

He can't. As a DittoHead he believes that all this is the Dems fault for being spendthrifts..Little does he realize that Reagan and Bush jr were 2 of our biggest spenders.

Just because you don't like the answer doesnt make the answer illegitmate or incorrect.
