Thousands protest in Tokyo against U.S. military presence in Japan

If the **** hits the fan in Korea, our guys won't be in Korea anymore. They'll likely be nuked, and China will be going nucking futs.

Your thinking is dated by about 40 years.

So, you want to take away their nearest combat support based on the probability that they'll be nuked? That's brilliant!!:rofl

Do you know how many countries in that area we have bases in? Bet based on your answer you don't.

No, some people in Japan want the US to close down the bases. The Japanese government has done nothing to suggest they want to end the agreement they have with the US. Do try and keep up.

So? Some people in the United States want to surrender to the Muslims. But I don't listen to Democrats, anyway.

And the United States should continue to keep it's forward base on Okinawa for as long as it's useful to us, since no amount of money can pay for the American blood spilled taking it.

Why are your posts always the turd in the punch bowl? Everyone else was having a decent discussion with informative posts, then you come along.

Plop.

It's called perspective.

Try understanding WHY the US has a major military base on Okinawa, then try to understand what it means, all the way around.

So, some rent-a-protesters in Japan whine about the US presence in Japan.

Why on earth is this "news"?

They're ALWAYS whining about the US base in Okinawa.

Got your perspective yet?

Non Sequitur. We are talking about protests in Asia. Your random partisan insult has nothing to do with the conversation.

And that is what is going to happen, despite the foolish comments in the OP.

The bases in Okinawa are a great deterrent to aggression in the region, plus if something were to occur the location is much better than moving everything to Guam:

I wasn't talking about any of that and you know it. Why did you have to make the silly remark that Dems want to surrender to the Muslims? Dems serve in the military, they have family members that have served and died in the military. Go make your silly little remark to them.

That's the turd I'm talking about.

I like being honest.

Democrats in office and campaigning to win elections spew the most unambiguous disdain for the very things that make America the greatest nation the world has ever seen. They're so uniformly consistent in this regard that there's no possible way the people voting for them cannot know that they're electing a scoundrel and a traitor. It's bad enough with the Republicans, the Democrats are even worse.

Anyone that votes for a Democrat is voting to harm America. It's as simple as that.

Many of those Dems in office have served in the military and risked their lives. Senator Jim Webb (ex-Marine) from my home state being a perfect example. Plus he has a son (a Marine) serving in Iraq.

Why don't you write him and his son a letter and tell'em to stop surrendering to the Muslims? Here's ol Jimmy's contact info:

Hi, I think I already made this point.

I found news stories going back to '06 about Japanese protests against the bases in Okinawa(most notably the one where the new airstrip is being planned). There have been at least 3 since Obama took office. Why do we think this one is somehow going to change policy?

It's much older than that. They were protesting US presence on Okinawa back in the 60's during the Vietnam war.

And as for Japan protecting themselves, they'd do quite fine at it. They are prepared to abandon US security and pursue self interest if the need ever arise.

if.

North Korea is expected to deploy a nuclear-tipped missile capable of reaching parts of the United States in the next decade, despite two long-range missile flight-test failures, according to the Pentagon's ballistic-missile defense review.

The review report, made public this week, concluded that missile threats from several states, including Iran, Syria, China and Russia, are growing "quantitatively and qualitatively," and it outlined Pentagon plans for silo-based and mobile anti-missile systems to counter them.

Yes I hear the only way to prevent being nuked is to be able to nuke back.:2wave:
