They were in Gitmo, and were under military tribunals, Obama stopped the process and began this wild goose chase that has landed his integrity on these matters on zero.

I was merely telling you...when don't care where.....there are other people like local authorities, the Mayor of New York, the State agencies and a few other departments who need to have a come to Jesus meeting as soon as President Clueless decides where these men are going....see....unlike you, they HAVE to care. Federal, State, and local authorities will have to concern themselves with cost, facilitation, and most importantly security. All levels will need a multi-tiered communication capability, a whose on first, whose covering who, who is reponsible for what and then..what happens if something goes down? What kind of security will the courthouse need, should we continue the policy of military detention, or do these Cats fall under civilian federal authority or whoever is supposed to provide courthouse security?

Lots of concerns and your "I don't care" really isn't a reasonable option now, is it?

There's nothing wrong with military tribunals in the Guantanamo Bay prison facility. The Caribbean Sea even has hungry fish to dispose of the bodies once they're properly executed (that means "quickly"), if we want to pretend we don't care about the health of the fish.

Well, I AM aware that Berlin had a severe shortage of upright walls at the end of WWII, but I'm pretty sure the US Army under Patton could have built one in a hurry if they'd been allowed to take Berlin and capture Hitler alive. Clearly no need to drag things like that into the US courts.

And there was clearly no need to drag military prisoners out of Guantanamo Bay and into a New York federal courthouse when military tribunals were perfectly satisfactory. I mean, the guy's a confessed terrorist. How long should it take, how much money should we waste, killing him, after he's confessed?

I got lucky at Boat World's going out of business sale, and picked up 110 feet of rope for 9 cents a foot. I've got about thirty feet left I'll be happy to donate for the hanging of any terrorist. I'll even loan out the mast to hang him from, if that's what it takes.

You'll find during WW2, we held thousands of prisoners here in the US, Italian, German, Japanese. Not one of them was ever afforded rights or even the ability to challenge their own detentions.

I agree with your post, my responses were to the Crusading Rabbit who doesn't care where these Cats end up....I was just reminding him, there are those who must care. And once Obama finally finds a location, that location from local to federal authorities must coordinate and communicate and handle a host of extremely costly endeavors.

In other words, "I don't care where" was the ridiculous Obama policy that's now being flip flopped on like fish out of water.

You're forgetting the Dems still control the House, they have a 59 - 41 edge in the Senate, and they've got Obama sitting in the Executive's chair.

That's not a recipe for a dead budget. And don't get me wrong, I'm no fan of most of the Congressional spending, but I think you're underestimating the power the Dems still have to spend your money.

Do you think Scott Brown would have defeated a healthy and campaigning Ted Kennedy? I don't. I think Kennedy would have squashed him. Brown probably wouldn't have even contested him for the seat.

i think you make a very good point

while it's true that just about all obama's big domestic and foreign policy initiatives are permanently outta reach, the office does still propose its budget

and that's an awful lot of policy, i concede

it is, however, gonna get real, real ugly

and i'm talking on the blue side

reds are becoming principally quite predictable, it appears

That's not the point. The point is I keep hearing conservatives trumpet their victory in Mass and how it shows everyone is sick of the Dems and Obama and how this is some fundamental shift in the nation's politics. And that's simply not true.

It's politics as usual in DC. There's been no change in the political atmosphere of this nation. It's still "gimme gimme gimme" and take from the other guy first.

Now if Brown had beaten a Kennedy.... you'd have something crow about.

new jersey moved 25, virginia too, the most swing state of 50

obama doesn't get it, he has gibbs still saying that massachusetts was some kinda endorsement

the meaning is pretty clear

obama WENT to massachusetts, my friend, he put it ALL on the line
