That's a matter of opinion. The results weren't worth the waste of life and money incurred.

Bottom line is that you guys just don't want a trial, so you're looking for any excuse not to have one. Money should be least of your worries considering the trillions already wasted.

Not going to war was a zero cost option. But such an option violates the sensibilities of the war mongers who feel the US should be in a constant state of war.

It would've been cheaper if Bush would've tried these guys while he was still in office instead of wasting tax dollars fighting it.

I won't ignore the costs of this trial simply because you take issue with the war in Iraq. Moreover, you haven't provided any sort of justification for this trial. I maintain that it is not necessary, and that we would be legally and morally justified in summarily executing him, as he is a known terrorist.

As to what's legal vs what's moral, that boils down to a matter of opinion. It was once legal to own slaves. Was it moral? For some, yes; for others, no.

It may or may not be legal to keep these guys locked up indefinitely without a trial. That I don't know. But for me, it's immoral to keep anyone locked up without a trial.

Too bad you weren't more persuasive with your kind. Most of them were more interested in NOT having trials and ways to impede the process. Their tactics backfired on them, because now they don't have any say so in how a liberal president is going to conduct these trials.

Yep. They shouldn't have been demonized so much and these would've been simple trials. But no, the right got so paranoid and acted as if these guys were Satan himself.
