Re: Obama to propose spending freeze

oh, and did you hear about president pie-in-the-face attempting to assuage grief stricken caucus members about their 2010 prospects, assuring them that the difference between 1994 and today is "you've got me?"

    LOL!

now, there's a POPULIST any mother could love

obama's such a phony even cnn can see thru, plain as a pane

prudence or posturing, asks the one time clinton news network

such a hypocrite, he calls out mccain for his hatchet

then flourishes his fingernail clippper after a year of throwing trillions of taxpayer dollars that don't exist at anything that might possibly contribute to one of his campaigns

He is still raising it and these steps are all about manipulation to try and appease Americans that view the rising deficit as something the government should fix. I would support Obama 100% if he chose to re-evaluate the budges and force the government to live within its means, meaning not spending more then what we take in (assuming he allots spending in the correct places like national security etc...)

I wouldn't generalize by saying people who don't support Obama and his policies will hate him regardless of whatever decision he makes. I was quite pleased when he announced to send troops to Afghanistan, I supported him on that.
Did you raise hell when the repubs decided not to renew "PAYGO" or are democrats the only ones who should pay for their spending? It's simply a question of consistency.

    EDIT:
    http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009...eral-deficits/

I thought I'd check to see how Faux News handled the news that the repubs allowed PAYGO to lapse. They barely even mention it until the end of the article, because, you know, it's no big deal to conservatives to pay for money they spend.

Taxes are going to have to be raised in the future, this much is certain. Spending freezes will reduce the amount of taxation that will be required to continue to obtain the credit necessary to run this country.

Is a zero debt burden by the federal government likely? Probably not..... for dozens of future generations.
It is not very unreasonable that the rich should contribute to the public expense, not only in proportion to their revenue, but something more than in that proportion.

This is pretty surprising. Given the shifting national attitude, it looks to be that rare convergence of good policy, good timing, and good politics.
I'll believe it when I see it.

I'm thinking that the 'right wing nuts' are those among the LEAST appeased.

Great point, you've really convinced me that corporations are doing all they can to convince Obama to cut expenditures.

According to the President, it would save $250b. Did you miss that part of the story?
