DOVER, Del. -- Vice President Joe Biden's eldest son, Delaware Attorney General Beau Biden, dealt another body blow to the flailing Democratic Party on Monday, announcing that he will not run for the Senate seat long held by his father.
The younger Biden said he needs to remain focused as attorney general on a high-profile criminal scandal involving a pediatrician accused of sexually assaulting several patients. Prosecutors believe Dr. Earl Bradley, who was arrested in December, may have molested more than 100 children over the past decade.

His excuse not to run sounds admirable, but I bet it has to do with the likelihood of Biden losing--especially after watching a Republican become a Massachusetts Senator, and he would have to run against a strong Republican (Mike Castle, a two-term governor and one of the most successful politicians in Delaware history)

Have you applied to be a Mod?

Were you accepted?

If not, why are you acting like one?.... don't you think they can do their job without your help 24/7?.... don't you have a life?

Ignore him. It's easy since there's no substance there anyway.

I think it has to do with the likelihood of his campaign reflecting badly on his father. If you say "Well he defended such and such" in 2010 then you can say "Biden's son defended such and such" in 2012. The right eats up all type of silly connections on what a person's values are regardless of what the circumstances are. It is how Bush won against Dukakis in '88. "Willie Horton" anyone?

So after taking Kennedy's seat, it now looks like there's a good chance that the GOP will take not only Biden's seat, but Obama's seat and Hillary's seat. Only the former looks certain though.

beau obviously measured massachusetts and found himself wanting

his seat is now ours

like reid's, michael bennett's in colorado, ms lincoln's in arkansas, specter's in PN, dorgan's in ND---as good as in the bag

within reach are boxer in CA, gillibrand in NY, burris (obama's seat) in IL, nelson's spot in FL, evan bayh in IN

if massachusetts can go red anyone can

Thank you for your charming inquiry. The fact is that my post was truncated by a dying laptop battery.

My take on this news article is simply the obvious point that any serious pol with a functional mentality is now almost certain to flee the suicidal Democrat Party.

The interesting point in this case is that the father has helped to limit the political career of the son, by spouting nonsense.

You did know that the Willie Horton issue was first brought up in a Democrat ad, right?
