The government has a virtually assured conviction. They'd have to royally screw the pooch to not get this guy in ADX Florence for the rest of his life.

What won't happen is we won't be able to gain timely intelligence from him.

If he actually is a loner I can't imagine he'd have all that much that would be useful to US intelligence anyway.

As long as this government thinks it can defeat terrorism with nothing but brute force, it will fail. An ounce of intel is worth a pound of airport security.

I have no problem with reading him his rights...after interrogation by trained professionals and after the military is sure this terrorist scum doesn't have info vital to the war effort..or that could save trooper's lives.

Do you think he'll get off?
Given you seem to think he should be afforded rights, you tell me.

Should have just masturbated on some critical wiring. That would prevent having to smuggle any illicit items onto a plane.

Edit: Of course, I doubt planes are designed with any critical wiring easily accessable to passengers, so someone would notice.

Besides, now that his nuts are all crispy, it would have been his last chance for a good long while ...

Why go through all that trouble and risk a blister? It's clear this Cat coming right from Yemen, 23 years old, paying over $2,300 in cash for a one way ticket, had no luggage to check in....why on earth employ the effort of self satisfaction, why even look for wiring critical to flight?

Al-Haji could have been carrying plastic explosives that would not have failed and could have torn that plane in two, nobody even asked him what his name was.

I see. And how has Islamic terrorism been defeated throughout history?
