Alaska: Palin Daughter Seeks Child Support

It is simple logic...

The Palins have custody, as far as anyone knows no long drawn out custody battle happened. So using Occam's Razor, we can say he probably is helping. In fact she said he was. The problem is the mother feels he is not helping enough or paying enough.

Nothing wrong on either side of this issue morally. It comes down to she wants more and he does not want to give it. The courts are the place to settle this.

Why is this such a big deal????

The problem with that is that Sarah Palin is not the child's mother and her daughter is 18. Therefore, it's not Sarah Palin's business and she needs to be told to shut her hole and stay the hell out of it.

Grandparents have legal rights to visitation as well.....;)

to me, its not a big deal...i just find it amusing that some feel the palin's can do no wrong, and that the little one being born was all levi's fault, that bristol had no part in it, that she wasnt a particiapant in the conception...that suddenly levi is a bastard no good deadbeat dad.

Yes, but those rights are secondary to those of the parents.

Grandparents, without specific orders from a court, have ZERO decision-making authority over their grandchildren.

Therefore, again, I must reiterate that Sarah Palin needs to be told to mind her own damn business.

If she continues to interfere, she needs to be charged with custodial interference and sent to prison for 5 years.

In Alaska; the following law applies:

Alaska Statutes.

Title 11. Criminal Law

Chapter 41. Offenses Against the Person

Section 330. Custodial Interference in the Second Degree.

previous: Section 320. Custodial Interference in the First Degree.
next: Section 360. Human Trafficking in the First Degree.
AS 11.41.330. Custodial Interference in the Second Degree.

(a) A person commits the crime of custodial interference in the second degree if, being a relative of a child under 18 years of age or a relative of an incompetent person and knowing that the person has no legal right to do so, the person takes, entices, or keeps that child or incompetent person from a lawful custodian with intent to hold the child or incompetent person for a protracted period.

Sarah Palin is violating this law every single time she prevents Trip from seeing his father.

I guess nude modeling and advertising nuts just doesn't pay what it should.

I propose legislation authorizing fathers of teenage daughters to shoot Levi Johnston on sight, should he be found on their property, or within 500 feet of their girls.

It pays something though, and it looks like he is not paying what he should be:

According to the docs, obtained by TMZ, Bristol believes Levi has pulled in "in excess of $105,000 in 2009 through various media interviews and modeling related activities." The $105,000 figure is significant, because under Alaska law a non-custodial parent must pay 20% of income up to $105,000 a year -- which comes to $1,750 a month.

Your talking out your XXX, if she is not the parent nor the legal guardian that would never fly....
The only person who can interfere is Bristol if she is not abiding by the custodial agreement.....;)
Grandparents may not have decision making authority, but they do have a right to visitation & the court can & will order it, if requested....;)

I wonder if Levi knows this?

so the palin's are pure as the driven snow, and this is all obviously on levi's shoulders?? are you saying that the palin's would be above playing such games?
!

Levi's shoulders don't enter into it!

I wish we could go back to that magical time with Levi and Bristol on stage in front of all those cheering republicans, two proud young people planning a future marriage and their life together. It was something to behold.

If the Grandparents are blocking Levis visitation they could be breaking the law.

so what does....possibly palin political considerations?? is bristol totally innocent? did she or did she not have a part in the conception of the child? seems levi is being painted as a deadbeat before it even goes to court.

Actually, it would fly, and so would charges against Sarah Palin and Bristol Palin under Alaska Stat. § 11-51-125.

11.51.125. Failure to Permit Visitation With a Minor.

(a) A custodian commits the offense of failure to permit visitation with a minor if the custodian intentionally, and without just excuse, fails to permit visitation with a child under 18 years of age in the custodian's custody in substantial conformance with a court order that is specific as to when the custodian must permit another to have visitation with that child.
Sarah Palin is responsible for the above and both she and Bristol need to allow visitation or be charged and sentenced to the harshest possible penalty.

I consider Levi to be a parasitical worm, simply because he's publicly badmouthing the family that is supporting his kid, and that is his singular connection to notoriety of any kind.

I would say the bad mouthing has been going both ways.

"Sarah Palin’s oldest daughter, Bristol, is seeking child support from Levi Johnston, the father of her 1-year-old son. A court document says she is providing nearly all of the care for the baby, Tripp, and is seeking $1,750 a month. She says Mr. Johnston has paid only $4,400 in more than a year. His lawyer, Rex Butler, says that his client wanted to give money for the baby’s care on several occasions, requesting that Ms. Palin bring Tripp with her, but that she was a no-show."

Now please explain what Sarah Palin, has to do with this or anything I said?

Flying of the handle before you have all the details is just so stupid.

Whom do you think told Bristol Palin not to show up? He offered her the money and wanted to see his son. Bristol failed to show up.

This again has nothing to do with what I said or you implied. You also have no evidence at all to back that statement up. It is your opinion of what may or may not have happened.

If you are going to make accusations, at least have evidence to back it up.

LOL.

WRONG.

It comes from what YOU posted.

h. She says Mr. Johnston has paid only $4,400 in more than a year. His lawyer, Rex Butler, says that his client wanted to give money for the baby’s care on several occasions, requesting that Ms. Palin bring Tripp with her, but that she was a no-show."

You have failed.

You have failed.

The only failure here is your argument based on nothing. Please point out where it says Sarah Palin told her daughter not to show. Here is what you said...

"Therefore, it's not Sarah Palin's business and she needs to be told to shut her hole and stay the hell out of it. - Vader

"Whom do you think told Bristol Palin not to show up? He offered her the money and wanted to see his son. Bristol failed to show up." - Vader

Now do you have any evidence at all that Sarah Palin did something or not?

While that's true, if Sarah Palin had any sense she wouldn't go on national television and call this 19-year-old kid a liar. She can't possibly gain anything by responding to him, and she's just making herself look silly while helping extend his 15 minutes of fame. It's like she can't help herself.

They are talking about Bristol, this has nothing at all to do with Sarah!

Is anyone even reading the article??? Or is everyone just spouting partisan crap because they are to lazy to actually read what has been said?

I was referring to Oftencold's comment about Levi badmouthing their family. I assume he meant Sarah, as I haven't seen him say too much about Bristol in the media (I doubt that would garner as much attention, which is what he wants).

I didn't say anything partisan, I merely made an observation.

Again this has nothing to do with the article or what has come before even with OC's response.

I do however see your point.

I didn't say anything partisan, I merely made an observation.

That was directed at others and not so much you. They know who they are.

Bristol has nothing. Her parents are wealthy... she is not.

The fact that his lawyer filed the paperwork to create a hearing over custody is quite telling of this fact.

Want to know what sucks about all this? Being the child, who is caught in the middle, between of a couple of asshats, who are gaming and fighting each other.

so...you are assuming that he has made no effort to help out....think it is possible that the Palin's are playing 'games' with him?

If that's the case, then we'll soon see the story about how, "Palin daughter saught more child support than she deserved".
