A perfectly reasonable action, one that almost every Householder would agree is necessary with a burglar.
However all is not as it seems to be.
Long time Anti-Gun Advocate State Senator R.C. Soles, 74, shot one of two intruders at his home just outside Tabor City, N.C. About 5 p.m. Sunday, the prosecutor for the politician's home county said.

The victim, Kyle Blackburn, was taken to a South Carolina hospital, but the injuries were not reported to be life-threatening, according to Rex Gore, district attorney for Columbus, Bladen andBrunswick counties..

The State Bureau of Investigation and Columbus County Sheriff's Department are investigating the shooting, Gore said. Soles, who was not arrested, declined to discuss the incident Sunday evening.

"I am not in a position to talk to you," Soles said by telephone. "I'm right in the middle of an investigation."

The Senator, who has made a career of being against gun ownership for the general public, didn't hesitate to defend himself with his own gun when he believed he was in immediate danger and he was the victim.

In typical hypocritical liberal fashion, the "Do As I Say And Not As I Do" Anti-Gun Activist Lawmaker picked up his gun and took action in what apparently was a self-defense shooting. Why hypocritical you may ask? It is because his long legislative record shows that the actions that he took to protect his family, his own response to a dangerous life threatening situation, are actions that he feels ordinary citizens should not have if they were faced with an identical situation.

It has prompted some to ask if the Senator believes his life and personal safety is more valuable than yours or mine.

But, this is to be expected from those who believe they can run our lives, raise our kids, and protect our families better than we can.

I find it interesting, that these thugs rarely seem to break into the homes of pro-gun politicians.

I guess even criminals have a few firing neurons.

That's also typical conservative fashion. Both sides are hypocrites on quite a few issues.

Republican failings tend to be of the flesh. He, married man, committed adultery. He, married man, wiped his hand under a bathroom stall. He, married man, screwed a staffer.

Democrats tend to be hypocrites when it comes to legislating. Do as I say, not as I do, except I am exempt... just like this character, plugging a couple intruders.

Dems are loose with morals, so they exempt themselves from the flesh part.
Hell, screwing the staff is a badge of honor, just look at Clinton.

Which of course has nothing to do with the OP.

    Thanks for sharing.
Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.

The dude shoulda spent more time at the range getting in some practice and he might have been able to kill both burglers.

    Bad shooting, senator.

    Ahh, hypocrites hypocrites everywhere....

Alright Dana, Pete, Disney, and all the others that love to flood into threads about a republican politician whose for family values legislation and against pro-gay legislation that ends up cheating on his wife or is outed laughing and hooting and hollaring because of the "hypocricy". Where are you now. Lets here it. Lets see the broad stereotypes you give republicans.

Similarly, where or where are all the Republicans that flood into those threads that continually go ONE republican being a hypocrite doesn't mean ALL republicans are hypocrites. Who says we need to wait to hear the whole story. Who says that someone could be against something in principle and with his vote but still do an action related to it. That people make mistakes. That the person doesn't represent all republicans. Where or where are they....

Well, ignoring the ridiculous hyper partisan hackjob you did at the end that is pathetic, lets get to the meet.

You do realize the hypocricy of the Republicans is also arguably in legislation. Campaign on Family Values and push legislation that promotes it...sleep around on your wife. Campaign and push Legislation that disallows gay marriage or equal protection under the laws for gays and demonize them as "wrong".....sleep around with men. Or are you saying that Republicans don't deal with legislation that revolve around morals?

Oh, yeah, there's hypocricy in this thread, and not just from the Senator

Thanks for making my point about "the flesh", as your post clearly illustrates.

Ugh... I did use the word "tend" if you didn't notice... They "tend" to be.

No you didn't notice... I noticed.

And which member has been caught sleeping around with men?
Craig from Idaho? Last I knew there was an incident about wiping his hand under a stall; creepy yes, but did any gay lovers come forward? Not to the best of my recollection.

And here is another wagon full of hypocrisy; The D's claimed Lewinsky was none of our business... they defended the man as if he were a God... yet when it comes to walking the talk... No, no, no. They went out to destroy people.

They ran Mark Foley out for sending text messages to young staffers... and used this as their foundation for re-election in the last midterms. You may have forgotten; I haven't.

Democrats can screw the youngens, jam cigars in 'em, set up drug dealing whore houses, cheat on their spouses... but sending text messages... that's an offense to base their re-election hopes on.

The D's use the fact R's have moral standing against them when they falter...and that's OK... we have higher standards, an if you proclaim to have higher standards going into the game, you should be held accountable... but we...

... don't have it as a regular occurrence, a building block of the party's foundation.

Just look at the guy in the White House; a thorough hypocrite.
