U.S. Military Weapons Inscribed With Secret 'Jesus' Bible Codes

I honestly do not understand why anyone would care, either way.

Well a Christian should care because this is their god they're talking about. And Jesus didn't say that we should run around sniping our enemies. The message Jesus had was one of peace and understanding, not warfare and killing. A Christian should be incredibly offended that they dare associate their peace loving Jesus with weapons of destruction and death. It's insulting to suggest that Jesus would have anything to do with death and warfare. Guy was a peace loving hippie.

Which makes me wonder just how long this has been going on and no one noticed until just now...:rofl
Just wait til they find what's on the turret of the M1A1

or worse,

what's on the back of the coins and bills that were used to pay!

That's why I would have used Psalm 144:1.

I'm a Christian and I love Jesus as much as anyone, but I'm having a hard time coming up with any outrage. Maybe it's because I can remember actually praying to God asking his help in killing the enemy before he killed me. I must have a different perspective, I reckon.

all they have to do is issue WWJD bracelets for those using the scope
problem solved

That's a different god you're praying to. The modern Christian god is one of peace and forgiveness. You want the old testament god, or Athena.

Um, nooooo, it's the same dude. Maybe you got your religions mixed...lol

Another PR nightmare for the US military.

No, I'm pretty sure I have them straight. The modern Christian god is not a god of death and destruction. The lessons of Jesus tell us that. It is about acceptance and forgiveness. Turn the other cheek, ring a bell? It doesn't say "put a bullet through his skull". If you pray to help in the killing of other humans, it's not the Christian god to whom you pray. But I gave you a great choice for a god which would support you. It's not Jesus though, that guy doesn't have anything to do with anger and killing. Athena is wisdom and war; that's the goddess for you.

If the manufacturer is going to be putting religious quotations on weapons, then they should be putting something on them that boosts morale, not depress the soldiers. Any passage about riding Mary's ass would be good.

I love it when folks tell me how to interpret my religion. 'Specially Lefties. And most epseically when they seem soooooo confused about the whole thing.

Not really confused on the subject. In fact, I think it's pretty damned clear. Jesus did not endorse killing other people. His message was always one of understanding, humility, and forgiveness. It's not I who is confused on the Christian religion. If you're praying to the Christian god to kill your foes, it is you who is confused. The Christian god is not a god of war. I gave you a viable alternative; but Christianity is not a religion of hatred and killing. It's peace and forgiveness. If you haven't figured that out yet, then yes you've got your religion all wrong.

Only for those like yourself that thinks this means jack **** about whatever the hell.

Like those like me? What exactly are you accusing me off?

Things like "this" will be used by the Islamic radicals to prove their point that the US is on a holy crusade against Islam. It will mean more recruits to their cause.

Not my fault you are blind to the obvious.

$660M for up to 80K gun sights. Hmm, that's $8,250.00 each.

Would you pay that for one of these?

ht_scopes_1_100117_ssh.jpg

They can likely make them for less than $1K a piece. After PAU16:21 they should stamp: RIP0:FF

I wouldn't pay that, but if I were selling them for that, I'd want to keep the war going as long as possible, wouldn't you?

I might even be looking at what it would take to start another one when this one ends.

You do understand that Jesus and God are the same cat, right? Jesus, AKA God, is the same deity that, according to the Bible, knocked down the walls of Jericho, so the Israelites could slaughter everyone in the city.

But, hey, I'm going to step out of this conversation, because if there's one thing I don't argue about, it's religion.

Yes, that's why I used the word interchangeably. That's why I said you're praying to the wrong god when you pray for the deaths of others because Jesus did not endorse the killing of others. Thanks for keeping up.

Folks like you will whine about anything that will paint the US in a bad light, further supporting your claim that Islamic terrorism isn't the fault of the Islamic terrorists, but rather the fault of Western Christians.

In case you haven't figured it out, the jihadists will always be able to find something to use for propaganda. Hell, they would insist that fried pork-chops are a deliberate afront to Islam.

All I can say, is that instead of worrying about what's stamped on the side of a rifle scope, let's examine the goobers that are stupid enough to buy into the jihadist propaganda.

What a load of crap to say. I dont whine about things that paint the US in a bad light, the US does that all on its own.. or rather, certain American's make the US look bad. And as for the idea that "western Christians" are the reason there is islamic terror... solely hell no. But do they have a role in starting and especially keeping it alive? You bet they do and only the most brain dead would deny that.

Of course, but that does not mean we have to hand them excuses on a silver platter does it now?

No, lets worry about why it costs so much to buy such a scope.. talk about price gauging and lets talk about why it was not discovered before now. And then lets talk about why such actions play into the hands of the jihadists and then we can discuss why people will believe things like this or many other things that people believe in.. like Saddam had WMD and was behind 9/11. Just shrugging it off is like denying that ones diet and lack of exercise does not contribute to ones obesity or that ones 2 pack a day habit did not cause the lung cancer.

Why do these losers always say that [insert anything the US does] will cause more terrorist recruits?

There something wrong with their brains so they only thing running through them, besides hamsters, is tape recorded messages, or what?

Since our task is to kill the enemy, let's get on with the job. Having 2COR16:12 stamped on the gunsight of a man wearing a cross and carrying a bible in his pocket means what, to the enemy?

It means nothing.

Am I the only one who sees the irony in this?

Of course, one can easily put in Bible codes when we cherry pick different verses that fit our current need or as long as it fits the message we are trying to promote. Please remember, this is the same book that has the Ten Commandments, one of which is "Thou shalt not kill." I don't think it's offensive, I think it's hilarious and ironic. However, if I was a Christian, I probably would be offended.

My problem with it is based solely on the fact that tax payers are paying for religious inscriptions. That nonsense needs to stop. Unless we're going to include EVERY religion in America?

Uh, no.

The people keeping terrorism alive are the terrorists.

Europe's failure to understand this is why Europe is so screwed up.

Yes you do! It's never the fault of the jihadists, when you're explaining things. This paragraph proves my point.

Of course, but that does not mean we have to hand them excuses on a silver platter does it now?

It's irrelevant if we do, or not. If we don't, they'll use football as excuse to hate us, because footballs are made out of pig skin.

You're not accounting for the bureaucracy involved in government procurement. Trijicon scopes, on the open market, sell for as much as $2,600, depending on the model. Of course the bureaucratic costs are going to make them more expensive.

This might be a super-duper model made special for the military and it actually costs 8 g's. Trust me, when it comes to optics, you get what you pay for.
