What happens in Mexico isn't our problem.
But, you see, it IS.
Not directly, but anything that happens in the countries around us will, at least slightly, affect the USA.
Even building a massive border fence on all borders wouldn't help.
We would have to have a massive border patrol, combined with multiple layer border fences, radar fences to keep planes out, tunnel prevention methods...
And not just on the land borders.
You see where this is going.
It is completely unreasonable to expect any except a massively expensive border protection system costing trillions to completely block our borders from incursion.
SOMEONE will always get through.
IMO, we need to, among other things:
- Somehow force/cajole/persuade/help/assist Mexico/any other country which has immigrants trying to illegally enter the USA into improving their own country to the point that their population doesn't want to leave...or at least most don't.
- Improve our immigration system to allow more legal immigrants to enter.
But I really don't know an effective way to deal with the current numbers of illegal immigrants in the USA.
Edit: I mean...sending them all back sounds good, but would be really hard to implement.
Sending them back piecemeal as we catch them would help, but with our border as it is, many would return.
So refer to my 1st numbered point.
