Why should you be pissed? It's a political issue and this is a political forum. Discussing the situation in a political context is perfectly rational.

However, I can call out the hypocrisy on all sides on this. In other words, your being a bit of a partisan saying we're taking all the burden when everyone is help as best they can.
My point was that "everyone" isn't helping as best they can, and "everyone" will just forget America's sacrifice by the end of the next news cycle. Most importantly, America has huge problems inside its own borders that need to be addressed.

We're severely overextended, both financially and militarily, and the US can't afford to substantially involve itself in every disaster or occurrence that happens to befall the world anymore. We're facing increased pressure from foreign markets, and we're committed to a long war against a decentralized enemy. Our plate is extremely full and we're just heaping more on with no regard to the future.

Royal Caribbean ships and others sailed into Labadee through the week, a % of the pax stayed on board and voiced their disgust, the others said things like, "we have been looking forward to this vacation, and nothing is going to spoil it" on a hill nearby American troops set up an aid station, they only had bottled water, one bottle per person, the queue of women and children streched 3mls down the mountain in the blazing sun.

The clean water beach showers worked okay in Labadee, its nice to shower off the salt water before you eat the buffet.

This is so simple I'm just gonna go with Wikipedia:
The Whig Party was a political party of the United States during the era of Jacksonian democracy. Considered integral to the Second Party System and operating from 1833 to 1856,[1] the party was formed in opposition to the policies of President Andrew Jackson and the Democratic Party. In particular, the Whigs supported the supremacy of Congress over the executive branch and favored a program of modernization and economic protectionism. This name was chosen to echo the American Whigs of 1776, who fought for independence, and because "Whig" was then a widely recognized label of choice for people who saw themselves as opposing autocratic rule.[2] The Whig Party counted among its members such national political luminaries as Daniel Webster, William Henry Harrison, and their preeminent leader, Henry Clay of Kentucky. In addition to Harrison, the Whig Party also counted four war heroes among its ranks, including Generals Zachary Taylor and Winfield Scott. Abraham Lincoln was a Whig leader in frontier Illinois.

In its over two decades of existence, the Whig Party saw two of its candidates, Harrison and Taylor, elected president. Both, however, died in office. John Tyler became president after Harrison's death, but was expelled from the party. Millard Fillmore, who became president after Taylor's death, was the last Whig to hold the nation's highest office.

The party was ultimately destroyed by the question of whether to allow the expansion of slavery to the territories. With deep fissures in the party on this question, the anti-slavery faction successfully prevented the nomination of its own incumbent President Fillmore in the 1852 presidential election; instead, the party nominated General Winfield Scott, who was soundly defeated. Its leaders quit politics (as Lincoln did temporarily) or changed parties. The voter base defected to the Republican Party, various coalition parties in some states, and to the Democratic Party. By the 1856 presidential election, the party had lost its ability to maintain a national coalition of effective state parties and endorsed Millard Fillmore, now of the American Party, at its last national convention.[3]
Any other pearls of wisdom you got for us?

    Sickening!

The most sickening thing I have seen on the medium of tv was the Gerardo at Large show the other night.

He was interviewing a colonel of our american forces at the airport in Haiti. The thing that made me sick was not his words but his actions. He was grinning like a moron at a goat sexing.

He was in the colonels's face holding a microphone like a phallic symbol and it looked like he was sexually aroused by the colonel. The camera was focused on their upper extremities and I can easily guess why. The colonel was clearly bothered by him and kept trying to move away. Fact is always stranger than fiction.

I think geraldo must be doing ann coulter or something weird. I dunno.

After it was over I had to watch an episode of southpark to cleanse my mind

    wait, what should they do?

half the fat idiots on a cruise ship would be more a problem than help in a disaster....

I'm not sure of the purpose here.

Simple close it to cruise ships and use the deep water mooring to bring in relief supplies, then distribute them from the secure compound, Labardee is enclosed by a 12ft high fence.

Oh no, we can't do that. Then it would take on the appearance of a military compound, with fences and gates and gaurds and stuff. Can you imagine the slobbering and foaming at the mouth that that would cause?
