Turkey accepts an apology issued by Israeli Deputy Foreign Minister Danny Ayalon under pressure from Israeli President Shimon Peres after Ankara threatens to withdraw its envoy. Turkish President Abdullah Gül's stern warning early Wednesday is also said to have accelerated Israeli dispatch of the letter

Though the 48-hour crisis triggered by Israel’s undiplomatic treatment of the Turkish ambassador ended with an apology from Tel Aviv being deemed satisfactory by Ankara, relations remain unsettled between the regional allies.

The first critical test for the two countries will be a scheduled visit to Turkey by Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak, who favors mending ties.

While i will continue to advocate strong brotherly Turkish-Israeli ties, this has seriously harmed my thoughts on Israel and the current governments ability to conduct mature, diplomatically legitemate methods of mending ties with Turkey.

Are there cliff notes to this? Sorry, I'm sick and I couldn't follow what Israel did.

BBC News - Turkey demands apology from Israel over envoy 'slight'

Israel summoned Turkey's ambassador to rebuke him over a TV series but ensured he was photographed on a lower chair.

and

Footage of Mr Ayalon urging journalists to make clear that the ambassador was seated on a low sofa, while the Israeli officials were in much higher chairs, has been widely broadcast by the Israeli media.

He is also heard pointing out in Hebrew that "there is only one flag here" and "we are not smiling". The Turkish flag had been removed from the table, leaving only the Israeli one.

Funny how Israel did not do this when NCIS had a rogue Mossad agent killing off Americans for over a season.... go figure.
