Spy agencies failed to collate clues

Don't you just love bureaucracies. Here we have a perfect example of how totally unqualified people some how manage to high paying jobs in the Government and are handed evidence directly pointing to a problem, then they use their pea brains to decide to ignore it.
I haven't heard or read anything about about heads rolling over this but then to the current inept bunch of idiots in charge it wasn't really an attempted terror attack. It was an attempted man caused situation, disaster, or what ever the Al Qaeda apologists are calling it these days.

They can't help hating the West because after all to here Obama Been Lying tell it everything wrong in the world is either the fault of the U.S. as a whole or Bush specifically.
The poor followers of the religion of peace and love are forced to defend themselves.

Makes me wonder who the enemy really is.

The father, a wealthy businessman named Alhaji Umaru Mutallab, had urgently sought help from American and Nigerian security officials when cellphone text messages from his son revealed that he was in Yemen and had become a fervent radical.

A family cousin quoted the father warning American officials in Nigeria: “Look at the texts he’s sending. He’s a security threat.”

The cousin said: “They promised to look into it. They didn’t take him seriously.”

The OP is posted under the right section of the boards, but I wouldn't call this breaking news. These details were pertinent the second the case was released.

People will continue to ignore them and call for more strict security measures instead.
