BBC News - Danish cartoonist intruder shot

Danish police have shot and wounded a man who entered the home of Kurt Westergaard, whose cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad sparked a major row.

Danish media say Mr Westergaard was in his home in Copenhagen with his wife and grandchild when a man broke in and threatened him with a hammer.

Mr Westergaard is said to have raised the alarm and police entered the house and shot the intruder.

Mr Westergaard's cartoons were printed by Jyllands-Posten in 2006.

They triggered violent protests, with Danish embassies attacked around the world and dozens killed in riots.

This is breaking News just come across the wire so I won't make a comment till I see the rest of the story. But I will say if this person is a Radical Muslim I want the Muslim World come out and actually show that they want a new day and call this what it is an act of Terror.
 
I would hardly call that an act of terrorism, even though it was uncalled for and against the law.
 
A Somali man was shot as he allegedly tried to enter the home of Danish political cartoonist Kurt Westergaard -- known for his controversial depictions of the Muslim prophet Mohammad -- on Saturday, police said.

The 27-year-old man, who was not identified, wielded an ax and a knife and cracked a window at Westergaard's home in Aarhus, said police spokesman Morten Jensen. A home alarm alerted police to the scene at 10 p.m., and they were attacked by the man, he said.

The officers shot the man in the right leg and left hand. He was hospitalized, but was not seriously injured, police said.

Islamic militants placed a $1m price on Mr Westergaard's head after he mocked Muslim suicide bombers by depicting the Prophet Muhammad with a bomb in his turban.

As much as I dislike mocking islamists, I think it's the only way forward. :2razz:
It reminds me of another cartoon published in a Swedish daily paper, depicting the King asserting to a former prime minister that, if the order to wear the star was imposed on Denmark's Jews, "We'll all have to wear yellow stars.".

It said he was Somalian, his actions say he was a Islamonut, meaning they should review who they allow into the country.
 
Lucky the intruder only had a hammer. To bad this fool has to depend on calling the cops for his defense rather than a well maintained arsenal of firearms and other security measures. Like it or not he has a target on his head for the rest of his life. He might do well to talk to Rushdie.

He probably understood it was against Islam to draw Mohammed, he's just not a Muslim so it logically shouldn't apply to him. Apparently, Muslims don't understand free society. Or should I say "some "Muslims?

Looks like we've been lucky. Its seems the latest terrorists are pretty stupid i.e. the shoe bomber and the Nigerian, and now this dork that threatens someone with a hammer. Look out if we get a smart one.
