I hope the people who did this are found and executed.

Salvation Army worker shot in front of 3 children - Washington Times

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) -- A Salvation Army worker was shot and killed Christmas Eve in front of his three young children during an attempted robbery outside the charity's community center in North Little Rock, a Salvation Army official said Friday.

North Little Rock police said they were looking for the two men who accosted Salvation Army Maj. Philip Wise outside the community center about 4:15 p.m. Thursday. No arrests have been made.

The two men fled on foot into a nearby housing development, police Sgt. Terry Kuykendall said Friday. Police don't know whether Wise, who was active in the community, knew his attackers, he said.

Wise, 40, had gone to the community center with his children to pick up his wife -- also a Salvation Army major -- to drive to his mother's home in West Virginia, said Maj. Harvey Johnson, area commander of the Salvation Army. As Wise neared the side door, two men approached.

The Salvation Army is one of the best charities in the world.

That is pretty disgusting.

Death penalty for these scum. Pronto!

.

Better yet, a lifetime of hard labor.

No, cause there is no hard labor in prison (cruel and unusual punishment you see).

I agree, strap these two to a gurney and put them down. Too bad we did away with "old sparky" in this country

Probably a repeat offender that should have already been disposed of.

Good to see we don't believe in a fair trial and due process anymore.

I believe in due process, a fair trial and a speedy execution...if found guilty.

Is there any actual hard labor prisons in Arkansas? The death penalty within a year or two after his sentencing trial is more realistic than a lifetime of hard labor(unless if it is in Maricopa County,Az)The bleeding hearts basically got their ***** hurt and somehow convince suckers that hard labor is cruel.

Well, c'mon, to Bleeding Hearts "Labor," is punishment. Much less "Hard Labor."

I really agree. That epitomize the Gospel in action. They don't just spout flowery phrases like much of Christendom. They are unglamorous and the real thing.

I'm sure there is, but just like anywhere else it's only for non-violent offenders and they have to be paid, otherwise some Liberal lawyer will call it slavery.

Those stupid bells are annoying but not quite enough to shoot someone.

It's those damned tambourines! A friend successfully complained about their band practice next door to his house, and the local council made them soundproof their citadel.
Shootings happen several times every day in the US, what's especially outrageous about this particular one? His charity? His religiosity? His children witnessing it? Some or all of these could be factors in all the other shootings. What's the difference with this one?

It's in the news. No, this wasn't a drug deal gone bad or a gang banger who was slayed, but the murder of a Salvation Army worker in front of his children at Christmas time. Most Americans, from Atheists to Christians, respect the work of the Salvation Army. We don't like to see people who dedicate their lives to helping the poor and underprivileged murdered in front of their children.

No, there probably isn't, but there should be. It would be good for the convicts to do something useful, and to see the fruits of their labors, not to mention that hard physical labor would take some of the wind out of their sails and make them a little more docile.
