Not true. It already happened, and it was someone from the Moral Majority who did it. LMAO.

note not a word of defense of THIS bill in any of the posts above

    it's a VERY BAD bill

it MANDATES individual's vie for themselves, some perverted view of universalism

if FINES those that don't, criminalizes them, threatens them with jail

it CUTS medicare and medicaid by HALF A T, all while EXPANDING the latter, the GHETTO of health care

and in doing so imposes a FIFTH OF A T of unbacked burden on already bankrupt states

the president says---hey, my bill is balanced, let CA pick up the tab
So, what you're telling me is that the current way we do business, e.g. pre-existing clauses, insurance coverages discontinued for those that have insurance and suffer catostrapohic (sic) illness; and insurance companies raising premiums to "cost out" the middle and low classes from buying insurance is a good alternative?

Tell all those cancer patients, who were loyal conservatives and GOP followers, that it was okay to loose every cent they earned because their insurance was terminated due to their illness.

It may have issues that need working out, but I did not see the GOP propose anything that would have benefited the common man.

I pray that no one, rich, poor, black, white, dem, or GOP have to suffer at the hands of an insurance company that has many people on k street.

Re: Senate OKs health care measure, reaching milestone

This has indeed been a polarising topic

BBC News - US Senate passes landmark healthcare reform bill

"The Senate bill was adopted by 60 votes to 39, with senators voting along party lines"

"Fifty-eight Democrats and two independents backed the legislation, while Republicans voted unanimously against it"

    on the bright side,

"The bill aims to cover 31m uninsured Americans and could lead to the biggest change in US healthcare in decades"

What alternative is available for these 31m Americans?

Some interesting views on our NHS [UK]

BBC NEWS | Special Reports | Americans give their view on NHS

    for non emergency appointments

"The current waiting time for an initial outpatient's appointment should be no longer than 13 weeks. Once at the outpatient clinic, you should be seen within 30 minutes of your appointment time"

    To get treatment

"The waiting time to actually receive hospital treatment can vary depending on your local PCT. However, by the end of 2008, no patient should have to wait longer than 18 weeks for hospital treatment, after referral by their GP"

How long will I have to wait to see a consultant?

Emergencies are pretty much as soon as the Ambulance arrives at the hospital

Why shouldn't these people fleece and rape us. Steal our freedom and behave like this? We don't do anything. We elect incumbents right back in, the gang celebrating this mornning have been there for decades.

I agree with the liberals, we'll forget about this come election time. There is no shorter memory than the American People's.
It was the Austrasians, that hewed on bravely through the thick of the fight, it was they who found and cut down the Saracen King.
