Health Care bill clears key Senate test - Yahoo! News

AP 1:35 am EST

Landmark health care legislation backed by President Barack Obama passed its sternest Senate test in the pre-dawn hours early Monday, overcoming Republican delaying tactics on a 60-40 vote that all but assures its passage by Christmas.

I generally don't like making new threads on a topic already under discussion, but I think this warrants it. For better or worse, it is almost certain Obama is going to get a bill to sign. More delays will happen, more bitching by those of both sides, more lies, more rhetoric, and more namecalling is going to happen, but the long and the short of it, it looks like passage will happen. It will be very interesting to see what the final form of the bill that makes it to Obama looks like.

Interesting? How about frightening? With 56% of people opposing the bill and support falling every week, you have to wonder just why the Dems are so set to shove something that so few want down our throats.

It's all about the power. Those in charge are willing to let a few junior senators and representatives lose their jobs cause they are mostly from safe districts. Now if they just pass amnesty before the next election, they will have 20,000,000 new Democrats voting for them. And to hell with the people who run businesses, create jobs, pay taxes. As long as they get theirs.

28th Amendment to the Constitution.
"Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the United States that does not apply equally to the Senators and/or Representatives, and Congress shall make no law that applies to the Senators and/or Representatives that does not apply equally to the citizens of the United States."

We need this now.

Once this passes you will see a sharp rise in premiums for most young people and an overall increase in premiums across the board.

Passed through a bill no one has read.

How can ANYONE be alright with that?

The Democrats should have dumped this watered-down POS. That way...Americans, who overwhelmingly support a public option, would understand who it was the prevented REAL healthcare reform from becoming a reality.
The Democrats that prevented real reform are no better than their counterparts in the Party of No.
