Lipinski wants "buy American" wording in job legislation

If the better cheaper products are not American anymore, then the American taxpayer will have to pay more for inferior expensive American products. What price patriotism? (and free trade)
Patriotism is more than just saying I support the troops and waving a flag. Those two things do not mean a damn thing if you sell American jobs to over seas countries especially countries we are ideologically opposed to.

The logic is simple. You want the rest of the world to buy your products and you play protectionim with the rest of the world? That will never happen in a globalized world.

The rest of the world did buy our products before we started outsourcing jobs to China, India and other country so your fear argument is nothing more than fear mongering not based on anything.

Prove that American products are inferior. Jobs are sent overseas, and now YOU want to send our tax dollars too. :doh

Shed that hypocracy. You signed free trade agreements with many countries.

What hypocrisy? I do not want my elected officials signing agreements that basically encourage the export of American jobs. Our elected officials have no business encouraging any American job to outsource.

To take a page out of the conservative playbook: Why do you hate capitalism?

Then vote 'em out of office. In the meantime, we're stuck with agreements we've signed.

You can, under the first amendment say what you will about this. No one has to listen though, and that includes congress.

Not if we send them a Petition demanding that they do something then they have no choice or be in violation of the Constitution.

Have you even read the Constitution?

Because if you have then you're showing horrible reading comprehension here.

Care to show the constitutional language you are talking about here?

:rofl If the minimum wage is $7.50/hour and your work is only worth $6/hour then your ass is going to be in the unemployment line. Its as simple as that.

Yes we do the problem is this over the ast 30 year we have sent all of our good paying jobs outside of the Country and Congress didn't do squat to stop it. If we can Bail out the Auto and banking then we can find the money to invest in bring back Our Stolen Jobs.

They sent those good paying jobs abroad because of the fact that they were paying so much. Nobody should get $40 an hour to build cars when people with University educations would be lucky if they got $40K starting salary.

Last time I checked you cannot steal that which you do not own. If I as a businessman and choose to expand my business I can. The jobs I created are mine. I own them and can do with them what I please. If I choose to open a branch of my business overseas for what ever reason, should I not be able to do so? Are you saying I need to have permission from a committee who neather cares nor understands what I do? Should Michigan be able to sue Virginia because VolksWagaon moved from Detroit to Richmond?

What does that have to do with the issue of buy American and outsourcing?

You are free to move your business where ever the hell you want. However my country should be able to impose whatever tariffs it can to ensure that goods made over here can fairly compete with goods you paid some Chinese kids 2 dollars a day to make.

Actually we replaced many of those good paying jobs with machines. Why pay a skilled spot welder a high wage when a machine can do it 24 hours a day without a single mistake?

Scorpion ignores the reallocation of the economy towards a service sector base which has seen the growth of many high paying jobs. It's partially a reason why the real wage average hasn't gone down. Scorpion's assertion is mathematically false as if those good jobs were really gone, real wages should have declined. Instead, they have merely stagnated.
