Howard Dean: Health Care Bill 'Bigger Bailout for the Insurance Industry Than AIG'

Re: Howard Dean: Health Care Bill 'Bigger Bailout for the Insurance Industry Than AIG

What he just said, goes for me.

No surprise there at all... You are the raining "clueless" champion of this forum.

Re: Howard Dean: Health Care Bill 'Bigger Bailout for the Insurance Industry Than AIG

Dude, the American people are overwhelming in support of health care reform in general and a public option in particular.

Dude, what are you smokin? The public HATES this bill, ESPECIALLY the public option in particular.

This bill would be a thousand nails in the coffin for the Democrats.

Re: Howard Dean: Health Care Bill 'Bigger Bailout for the Insurance Industry Than AIG

Yup. In order to get this done, the progressives had to bend to the conservatives who ruined the bill. It's incredible that anyone could ever blame the liberals for this because they would have gladly had a public option or single payer but conservatives (in both parties) just wouldn't listen to reason.

The Republicans have no say. They're not even allowed to attend the meetings, and they don't even have a copy of the damn thing.

You can try all you want, but the public isn't biting. The Democrats OWN this thing 100 percent.

Re: Howard Dean: Health Care Bill 'Bigger Bailout for the Insurance Industry Than AIG

so how about it liberals? Should Congressional demo's "kill the bill"?

j-mac

Absolutely. The only bill Americans should accept is one that requires Congress to be covered under as well.

Re: Howard Dean: Health Care Bill 'Bigger Bailout for the Insurance Industry Than AIG

I know exactly what it looks like. It looks like stricter regulations on the insurance companies, the government taking over big things like cancer treatments, diabetes, organ transplants, etc, and leaving private insurance for things like colds, prescriptions, broken bones, standard sort of things. In that way, you remove the biggest monetary drains from the insurance companies, which allows the cost of private health insurance to drop and the bigger things, much of which is the basis of the "pre-existing condition" scam run by insurance companies is taken out of the market forces and supplied via government.
Not a bad idea there, bro.

Re: Howard Dean: Health Care Bill 'Bigger Bailout for the Insurance Industry Than AIG

I am not saying only one problem should be addressed. But could we possibly address one at a time, so that we can know and understand what is being done?
How would you go about providing every person with access to affordable quality health care.

Re: Howard Dean: Health Care Bill 'Bigger Bailout for the Insurance Industry Than AIG

How would you go about providing every person with access to affordable quality health care.

I would pay the insurance bill for those who don't have insurance. That will only cost a couple hundred billion and I would pass a massive tax on the working class and private businesses to pay for it. I would also pay their insurance tab under the condition that they get a job as soon as possible and start paying their own insurance and monitor their attempts to actually get out and find work.

But, that would be too easy, too cheap, make too much sense and wouldn't give the government as much control over the American people.

The current bill will be a great vehicle to backdoor untold numbers of laws such a gun bans, tobacco bans, fast food bans, controls on personal life styles, you name. Controlling the population is really what it's all about. It's naive to think that this anything to do with providing quality health care to American citizens. I predict that there will be more uninsured Americans after the bill is implemented than there are now.

Re: Howard Dean: Health Care Bill 'Bigger Bailout for the Insurance Industry Than AIG

That poll didn't even ask people about the plan in the bill passed by the House or the Senate plan, as it stands at this point.

Find a poll that proves you right. Betcha can't do it.

Relax, dude. This is just the warm up. The game doesn't really start until the Senate and House Bills go to a joint conference committee.

The Joint Committee can put anything it wants to in the bill it reports out, and the Senate can pass it with just a bare majority.

Re: Howard Dean: Health Care Bill 'Bigger Bailout for the Insurance Industry Than AIG

I don't need a poll to know I'm right, bro. I'm the quintessential average American.

:rofl!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I forgot, you served in the Special Force.

j-mac

Absoutely. This is nothing more than watered-down POS.

Its time for the Democrats to say screw you to Lieberman and the Party of no. Go back to a public option or better yet, single payer and get the bill passed through reconciliation.

Why not pay for it with a tax on rich folk like me who maker over a million dollars a year?

I would also pay their insurance tab under the condition that they get a job as soon as possible and start paying their own insurance and monitor their attempts to actually get out and find work.
What if they already have a low paying job and just can't afford health insurance?

The current bill will be a great vehicle to backdoor untold numbers of laws such a gun bans, tobacco bans, fast food bans, controls on personal life styles, you name.
Show us the back door, bro.

Controlling the population is really what it's all about. It's naive to think that this anything to do with providing quality health care to American citizens.
No it's not, dude. Show a little class. Don't impune the motives of honorable men just because they hold political views different from yours.

I predict that there will be more uninsured Americans after the bill is implemented than there are now.
What makes you qualified for that, bro.

Define "this bill."

Re: Howard Dean: Health Care Bill 'Bigger Bailout for the Insurance Industry Than AIG

Define "this bill."

This watered down nebulous bill that won't accomplish what liberals orginally wanted but will still cost as much. (However, it will put a dangerous template in place for the future.)

Re: Howard Dean: Health Care Bill 'Bigger Bailout for the Insurance Industry Than AIG

So never mind the fact that a majority of Americans are now against the bill as it is being devised, and that a liberal demo leader says scrap it, just steam ahead regardless of what it will do eh?

j-mac

Of course.

The goal never had anything to do with making Americans healthier and everything to do with establishing new lines of control. Once they get the lines in place with this bill, they'll work on tightening the noose.

Re: Howard Dean: Health Care Bill 'Bigger Bailout for the Insurance Industry Than AIG

Why not pay for it with a tax on rich folk like me who maker over a million dollars a year?

Why not allocate the necessary cash from the pork pack?

What if they already have a low paying job and just can't afford health insurance?

We subsidize their insurance.

Show us the back door, bro.

Since government will have total control of health care, they will be able to decide that all the things I listed are health risks and therefore the govenment heavily regulate them, or ban them outright.

No it's not, dude. Show a little class. Don't impune the motives of honorable men just because they hold political views different from yours.

You're wrong. Control is exactly what the real motive is. The Congress Critters know this isn't going to work. That's why it doesn' take effect until after PBO's next run at the White House. He knows that after the American people get a taste of Obamacare, he might as well leave the country, because he'll never get re-elected.

What makes you qualified for that, bro.

I'm the quentessential common sense American.

So is that why the Insurance companies are spending millions to kill it? Something doesn't add up here. Seems to me Dean may be talking out of his arse again.

Re: Howard Dean: Health Care Bill 'Bigger Bailout for the Insurance Industry Than AIG

Define "this bill."

-1. crap, a piece of, 2. fecal matter, 3. a pot of poo, 4. crock of ****.

How's that?

Re: Howard Dean: Health Care Bill 'Bigger Bailout for the Insurance Industry Than AIG

Dude, what are you smokin? The public HATES this bill, ESPECIALLY the public option in particular.

This bill would be a thousand nails in the coffin for the Democrats.

Over 70% of Americans want a public option...which is why they are opposed this this POS.

The Democrats would be idiots to pass this bill. Let it fail and Americans will understand why we have no Healthcare reform and understand why people like Joe LIEberman need to be voted out and replaced with real progressive Democrats.

Re: Howard Dean: Health Care Bill 'Bigger Bailout for the Insurance Industry Than AIG

Have you actually read the watered down nebulous bill?

Doubtful but nether has anyone else including you unless you've got a seat in the closed chambers.

What a load of crap, but keep telling yourself that. The reason your party is running from the public option is that they know it is political suicide.

"Over 70 pecent of Americans" want jobs for the unemployed. They want the deficit down, and the economy fixed. They don't want government controlling 1/6th of the economy and eliminating even more decent-paying jobs.
