Don't you love how half of Chavez' country is starving, and they're on his Marxist bandwagon in Copenhagen?

Venezuelans are starving?

As much as you claim would love to see the little people starve, you're going to have to provide a source on that one.

Good luck with getting a source from a state controlled media there, but I do know that the power is going off and on in much of the country. This sort of incompetence can only lead to other issues, starvation being one of the logical consequences.

Wait... so the power is going on and off because of Chavez?

You mean it wasn't while american supported leaders were there? Like when I lived there? The power went off several times a week, dood.

Also. The media is hardly state controlled. Some of the channels supported an illegal coup against the government and they were shut down like they would be in any state. There are state channels though, that is not uncommon.

Also, Venezuela is an open country where people are free to go see what the living conditions are. You know, free to do studies etc.

Nobody is hungry or ever really will be though you claim you'd love that.

...Incompetent enough to eliminate illiteracy and lack of healthcare...

CARACAS -- Compulsory cuts in water supplies began Monday in this city and other areas of Venezuela, leaving residents and businesses with little choice but to do without for periods of up to 48 hours at a stretch. The objective of all this is to slash consumption by 20% because water is in short supply.

Latin American Herald Tribune - Venezuela Rations Water As Power Cuts Loom

CARACAS, Venezuela — This country may be an energy colossus, with the largest conventional oil reserves outside the Middle East and one of the world’s mightiest hydroelectric systems, but that has not prevented it from enduring serious electricity and water shortages that seem only to be getting worse.

President Hugo Chávez has been facing a public outcry in recent weeks over power failures that, after six nationwide blackouts in the last two years, are cutting electricity for hours each day in rural areas and in industrial cities like Valencia and Ciudad Guayana. Now, water rationing has been introduced here in the capital.

The deterioration of services is perplexing to many here, especially because the country had grown used to cheap, plentiful electricity and water in recent decades. But even as the oil boom was enriching his government and Mr. Chávez asserted greater control over utilities and other industries in this decade, public services seemed only to decay, adding to residents’ frustrations.

Got to love socialism.... it could be raining soup, and you would still go hungry.

Job #1... stamp out their endless cesspools of corruption.
We should deny them aid until it happens. Otherwise we are just feeding the beast.

You can't get rid of it all, but they have so much to slash away it's sickening.

I had a friend that worked all over the continent for 25-years, and after listening to his stories said he should write a book about it. He said he wouldn't live long if he did. Pretty sobering. Then I asked him to write it and have it published posthumously. He died only a year later. Too bad.

.

The only way to stomp out all corruption is to have the governments 100% monitored by all citizens. Something like a reality show/forever webcam for all politicians. Even in there personal life while they serve. Sorta how America is right now except in reverse.

I think you just found out how to reduce corruption and make some nice money in advertising and broadcasting at the same time. ;)
