New poll shows 'Tea Party' more popular than Republican Party - Yahoo! News

"Okay, suppose the Tea Party Movement organized itself as a political party. When thinking about the next election for Congress, would you vote for the Republican candidate from your district, the Democratic candidate from your district, or the Tea Party candidate from your district?"

The response of all those who were polled was Democratic 36%, Tea Party 23% and Republican 18%.

Long live the tea party movement. We should all encourage their efforts.

Too bad for you that 99 percent of the Tea Party will vote for which Republican they find most like-minded.

But keep avoiding the lead. How's your party doing? Can't accomplish a damn thing because the public hates everything the Dems are proposing.

Buyers remorse among voters has set in worse than I've seen in my lifetime.

Yeah....it worked so well for you in d-23 :doh

Yeah....it worked so well for you in d-23 :doh

That's exactly what I was thinking ..... although, that race was a special case, in that the Republican candidate did not go through a primary election or a nominating convention or caucus. I am very interested to see what happens w/ PA Senate, and FL Senate, and some other races that I can't recall right now.

I think it's going to be an interesting election season. I expect Dems to lose House seats, but I'm not sure about Senate seats. Plus other stuff should be interesting too.

Yeah....it worked so well for you in d-23 :doh

Considering that NY23 seat will be up again in less than a year and Doug Hoffman is now a known commodity....I'd say yes.Hoffman almost won the district depite having been in the race for 30 days and having to run up against a Democrat and a RINO.

I have a far better idea for all of us Americans, it's time for all of us to stop being Republicans and Democrat and start being Americans that is what we are.

When we(Americans) decide to put away are stupid Party Loyalty then we will start become what are founding father so wished the great Country to be.

I challenge everyone on here to go and register as an American and don't let the Election Folks tell you can't. My voter card say Party American.

It's starts with an idea and goes forth after that

Are you saying he's full of it?

So, you're encouraging the creation of a Conservative party to replace the GOP? What is it that you're hoping to gain by that, exactly?

It's starts with an idea and goes forth after that

Goes forth and....gets stomped on in the elections. You ain't going nowhere. We cut our teeth at the local, state, and national levels, the infighting and bloodied walls pushed this way or that by populist movements, soccer moms, lobbyists, conservatives, liberals, whatever, you find your platform and you make a difference within the party. And then with the rest of your Constituents and by the millions...you elect your candidate.

The Conservative movements will never win a majority back if they do not work together! and you cannot work together if you're working apart. you cannot win big games Gentlemen, if you've a fractured sideline!

Now some of us are leaders, some shakers. Some block and tackle, some are on special teams. Some are responsible for staff, some for recruitment. Some for campaign excellence, some for charisma, some for spirit, some for strength. But we ALL have the same helmet on, Gentlemen. It's the same helmet. and without yer blockers, without support, yer play ain't going anywhere.

So, with all due respect scorpion, snap that chinstrap tight and get back in the huddle. Want use a few of your plays, let's see the playbook. But quit slicing off pattern and acting like you want to throw another interception, remember the last was returned for a Barack Obama touchdown and a Joey Biden/Hillary Clinton two point conversion.

Huddle up.

At this point, jock itch is more popularly than the Republican Party.

Absolutely. I would be all for a Goldwater conservative party. Dump the social agenda and get back to what being a conservative REALLY is.

If not that....I would love to see a teabag party. Splinter the GOP and ensure Democratic control for decades to come. Maybe we could actually move the Democratic party to the left if the GOP were split.

I participated in the Tea Bag party on April 15 and July 4. Funny how the July 4 was even bigger than April 14. Also funny that in both of them a majority of members participating were Democrats and union members. Quite a few independents, only a few Republicans. In fact very few Republicans overall.

But then I live in Michigan and we have been ignored and abused by both of the parties over the past 10 years of our depression. Yeah, the last time the economic indicators in Michigan were positive was 1997. And then with GM being forced into bankruptcy, all of the retirees lost their pensions and health care. And all of the folks who held GM stock were busted. So we tend to be pretty bitter about government in general around here.

Although I still chuckle about the sign that stated "Keep the Government out of my Medicare!" Things that make you go 'huh?'

If the Republicans would redefine themselves as fiscal conservatives (classic liberalism) who support pragmatic 'safety net' social programs, then I'd listen to what they have to say -- however as long as they want to regulate social policy and cater to the religious right... I can't hear a damn word.

When there is a candidate that better represents my views than the democratic candidate tends to, I will be interested. Telling me I should not be a democrat, when those are who actually have close to the same views as I is kinda silly.

Of course it has. Obama promised everything under the sun...for everyone. Anyone with a functioning brain knew that wasn't going to happen.

Well if that's not insulting...

You do realize most of those against the civil rights were democrats right?

FAIL

An unfair comparison. I'd expect that of an american liberal. The contempt shown these american people, mostly hardworking middle class folk, is just why the democratic party is facing such horrible numbers just a few short months after completely dominating the white house and congress.

No, you would be wrong.

.....Democrats have majority control of both the House and Senate, but voters remain more confident in Republicans on virtually all of the key electoral issues regularly tracked by Rasmussen Reports. However, that confidence is not quite as strong as a month ago when the GOP led on all 10.

Republican candidates have a seven-point lead over Democrats for the second straight week in the latest edition of the Generic Congressional Ballot. Forty-four percent (44%) would vote for their district’s Republican congressional candidate while 37% would opt for his or her Democratic opponent.

Voters seem to be systematically trending away from the Democratic Party. The number of Americans identifying themselves as Democrats has fallen to its lowest level in four years. But there are still more Democrats than Republicans.......
