An unfair comparison. I'd expect that of an american liberal. The contempt shown these american people, mostly hardworking middle class folk, is just why the democratic party is facing such horrible numbers just a few short months after completely dominating the white house and congress.

    No, you would be wrong.

    source

.....Democrats have majority control of both the House and Senate, but voters remain more confident in Republicans on virtually all of the key electoral issues regularly tracked by Rasmussen Reports. However, that confidence is not quite as strong as a month ago when the GOP led on all 10.

Republican candidates have a seven-point lead over Democrats for the second straight week in the latest edition of the Generic Congressional Ballot. Forty-four percent (44%) would vote for their districtís Republican congressional candidate while 37% would opt for his or her Democratic opponent.

Voters seem to be systematically trending away from the Democratic Party. The number of Americans identifying themselves as Democrats has fallen to its lowest level in four years. But there are still more Democrats than Republicans.......

Newsbreak.... the so-called southern strategy did not come about until WELL AFTER enactment of the civil rights act of 1964.

A little use (and study) of history would do you some good.

It's also an idiotic comparison. What kind of self serving liberal apparachik would compare a movement based on freedom from government oppression, with that of being against civil rights?

If you think about it, its rather racist of Joe1911 to make such a comparison.

i'm not a party loyalist. i just don't believe republicans stand for anything except furthering their own agendas, which don't include much of anything to benefit the american people.

Denigrating one's foes, in this case middle americans, is just about all an american liberal/leftist can do. Their policies are completely at odds with us. We are now the enemy. I would have expected no less from a present member of the current democratic party.

Unlike members of the democratic party? You must be joking. Members of both parties are representing their constituents. We are a divided nation. The problem has less to do with the parties and more to do with the american people, or rather which american people. I'm afraid the democratic party policy of [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Identity_politics"]identity politics [/ame] along with the whole concept of multi-culturalism has worked rather too well.
