    They have offered plenty.

the impasse broke when the gop moved to end dixiecrat russell's and bobby byrd's filibuster

the kkk is heart and soul dem

those people are still fighting the war between the states

they've never forgiven the party of lincoln

they might vote red in presidentials, tho, so offended by the san francisco style of leadership currently dictating to the donkeys

but that's certainly not their druthers

Re: Reid Compares Opponents of Health Care Reform to Supporters of Slavery

I have a question for all of you: just what specifics do you figure are broken with the current health care system?

My prime specific is that I have needed my health care coverage three times for my family. Each time I was covered. One was an emergency and was covered without problem by my insurer. The other two were not emergencies but were considered necessary and vital. Both were pre-approved by the insurers I had at the time. In both cases, three months after the procedures were completed, the insurers backed out and refused the claims. After several years of fighting the insurers, the insurance courts said "nope, no need for coverage in either case as neither was emergency medical care". No where in either policy was a requirement for "emergency medical care" listed for coverage, although even the "emergency medical care" was to be pre-approved.

So we have a health care bill in front of Congress that states I MUST carry health insurance or I will be fined or imprisoned (depending on the paragrah, depending on the bill, depending on the version, depending on where you find it in the bills). No where does it state that the insurance I MUST carry MUST pay anything. That kind of slipped through the cracks. Ooops! And you wonder why the insurance companies are backing this. In fact, there are several places where it states that the insurance companies will help determine the appropriateness of the coverage in interests of saving money.

So tell me, if this is the greatest saving grace for the citizens of the United States, what is in there for me or my family - other than higher and higher premiums (also not limited in any form by the bills)?

If this means I am a "slave holder", then I guess I am. Although my ancestors would be tickled pink to think that I would be allowed to own slaves! The only thing these health care bills have in common with slavery is that if they pass, I and my family will become the slaves. All this in the name of AIG and the financial companies which own the insurance companies. Better than a bail out for them! They won't have to pay it back or be forced into a pay cut!

Liberals/Democrats still treat blacks as inferior, but now, in true Münchhausen by proxy fashion, they attach the bait of Affirmative Action, low expectations and limitless excuses for failure to the hook of a failed inner-city public school monopoly, assumed and accepted dysfunction and life-long dependency on the state.

Conservatives express outrage over Reid slavery remarks -- yet routinely claim progressives enslaving America

Conservative media figures have attacked Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid's (D-NV) remarks linking slavery to Republican opposition to health care reform legislation, but have routinely attacked progressives and the Obama administration for creating "slavery" and enslaving the public.

Conservatives frequently accuse Obama administration, progressives of creating "slavery"

    For instance:

    * Beck: Recipients of federal aid have been "taught to be slaves"

    * Beck: Progressive policies create "slavery"; "slavery to government, welfare, affirmative action, regulation, control"

    * After ranting about how "illegal immigration is modern-day slavery," Beck compares himself to Ben Franklin

    * Beck says he can "make a case" Rathke brothers are "enslaving people through ACORN"

    * Beck: "The government's irresponsible spending is turning us into slaves"

    * Tax deduction change latest Obama proposal Beck claims "involves enslaving people"

    * Beck: "You know what this president is doing right now? He is addicting this country to heroin -- the heroin that is government slavery."

    * Beck says of stimulus package: "It is slavery"

    * Beck again compares recovery bill to slavery

    * On Fox, Forbes' Ozanian refers to Employee Free Choice Act as "pro-slavery bill"

    * Breitbart's BigGovernment.com publishes blog post comparing health care reform proposal to slavery

    * In rant on health care, Levin equated Senate Finance bill with "economic slavery"

    * Limbaugh: Democratic Party "obsessed with your death," "party of abortion and euthanasia, slavery and not liberty"

    * Limbaugh's guest host is latest radio host to compare current policies or proposals to slavery

Reid is an elected official, and Senate majority leader, and an asshole.

In the case of slavery you it would be an incorrect assumption. You do realize the only party with a real live former ku klux klan member is the democratic party don't you?
