I was shocked to learn about the Italian criminal justice system. The amount of abuse of power, and the lack of accountability to the elected government, is truly appalling for a modern country.
This is not the end. They're going to appeal. The system has its flaws, but they have the option to completely restart the trial on appeal, several times over.

“Our justice system is certainly in rough shape,” he added, “but it has a lot of self-correcting mechanisms.”

In the Italian system, the end of this yearlong trial closes only the first chapter. Unlike in the American system, in which appeals center on issues of law, not fact, in the Italian system, appeals are automatic and defendants can ask to retry the entire case in a first round of appeals.

From there, the case can go to Italy’s highest court, which is required to hear every appeal.

It may be years before a definitive sentence is reached.

A statement made under duress, according to the defense. Is there any evidence she was actually there?

Again...does lying necessarily mean she is guilty of murder? Are there any other reasons someone might lie?

What is the CCTV evidence to the contrary?

I haven't heard this before. Do you have a link?

So what was she cleaning up according to this theory?

Have you ever pricked yourself with a knife before? Is it so unbelievable that two housemates would have DNA on the same knife? ESPECIALLY when the knife apparently wasn't the murder weapon?

Huh? Knox's blood in the other room? Her blood was never found at the crime scene.

How does this implicate Knox specifically, as opposed to ANY random person trying to cover their tracks?

Why can this only be explained with multiple attackers? And again, how would this specifically implicate Knox?

You keep repeating this...and it seems to have nothing to do with evidence, and everything to do with playing up an emotional argument. "She's a horrible person, therefore she committed murder."

I am not saying the prosecution is not without faults or rather I can criticise them on some things but to somehow say that by being a 'nice person' in the US now means she is incapable of murder is ridiculous to me.
There is no evidence linking her to this crime. Certainly not beyond a reasonable doubt. She never would have been convicted in this country, nor should she have been.

Who knows? Maybe she was happy her roommate was dead. Maybe she just didn't care. Maybe the cartwheels had nothing to do with anything. Do murderers typically do cartwheels after they commit murder?

Are there any explanations for these facts other than she brutally raped and murdered her roommate?

Irrelevant to whether or not she committed murder, and disgusting that the Italian courts (and you) would even bring it up.

Re: Italian court convicts Amanda Knox of murder

According to news reports, Knox's finger prints were found no where on the crime scene. Here in the real world, that would be some serious reasonable doubt.

KSM is going to get a straigter trial that Knox got.

Didn't Scott's boat also have blood evidence that was matched to Lacy's DNA?

I believe so, in that case they also had more evidence up the yin yang tying him to the crime.

I'm screwed if I ever go on trial. I can't ever keep a straight face when I'm in trouble, guilty or innocent.
