His point, as fickle as it may be, is that it's ALL the Taxpayer's money. And I don't care what you do with your own money on your own time, but I'd rather the government not take my money and put it towards crappy investments, i.e. the downtrodden. Out of all the taxes I've paid in to the government, all I've seen back to myself was a check saying that they made a mistake and I owe more.

Perhaps charity is not the best business for a Government to be involved in, or in this case to be so heavily involved in.

You may not like it, but do you think I wanted my taxpayer money going for the war in Iraq? No, I didn't, but we don't get to pick and choose.

His statement was acting like all the conservatives in the country pay taxes and their money is used for things they don't want. Well, guess what? Liberal taxpayer's money gets used for things they don't want either.

Yeah, have you ever seen that "Death and Taxes" chart? I almost shat myself when I saw how much money when to certain things. Perhaps we should make only the basic services paid for by taxes, and let people sign up or 'subscribe' to everything else like we do with licenses or permits...

This is because you blind yourself to things not convenient to your world view.

Of course not! Haven't you heard?! Liberals don't pay taxes, they lie, cheat, steal, give other people's money to the less qualified, steal elections, lie some more, club baby seals, and steal children from good Christian families in the middle of the night to sell them into slavery, white children only, cause ya know it's racist to enslave black children.

    An "intermediate level of analysis?"

Thus, in the case of polygamy, the government would only have to show a "legitimate" state interest to support the discrimination....in the case of gay marriage, the Court would likely require the government to show an "important" state interest to support the discrimination. Neither would receive strict scrutiny which would require a compelling state interest.
How about the State's Constitution......for an important state interest? How about the Court "interpret" our laws as the courts were designed to do, the interests of We the People that should be the state's compelling interest here...the number 1 state interest.... in deciding how our society defines marriage.

It was the Austrasians, that hewed on bravely through the thick of the fight, it was they who found and cut down the Saracen King.
