Strawman...
did i say something inaccurate? be specific.
Strawman...
Oh please, he passed the buck when he gave the guy a clemency HE SHOULD be faulted for not thinking about it. The guy was a five time convicted FELON. Someone, that bad was going to do something AGAIN.
then why did the parole board all vote to parole the guy?
Why did the trial judge agree with parole?
Say what you want about Mike Huckabee but he had six professionals in the justice system saying parole was the right thing.
Arkansas must be doing something right since the guy never committed a violent felony in Arkansas.
is arkansas part of the union? did they secede again?
perhaps huckabee should have done a little of his own research. lazy, i guess.
Arkansas governors are not responsible for events in other states.
Certainly not events that happen years after they leave office.
1200 requests for parole, commutation, or clemency per year.
Not the governors job or responsibilty to research them.

dukakis should have used good excuses like these.
you hire people who can trust to research them.
Dukakis program was boneheaded because it allowed MURDERERS serving life without parole out on unsupervised weekend furloughs.
The reason given for this in Massachusettes was that
"if lifers had no hope of ever getting out of prison, they would be too dangerous to ever control".
I don't get it.
Willie Horton was a convicted murderer.
Maurice Clemmons was a convicted burglar.
Yet a bunch of clowns here and elsewhere insist the situations are similar.
So you think Huck made a good judgement call in this case?
That is the parole boards job.
Strawman....This has nothing to do with Maurice Clemmens.
so huckabee signs stuff without reading it? sounds like bush.
then why does the governor have to sign off on it?
the loves ones of four murdered police officers might disagree with that.
must be a reason for that "formality." a governor should not just sign stuff without reading it or knowing what it's about.
They would be wrong.
Clemmons was in Washington for years. Why didn't they keep him in jail?
