Oh, boy. You're more confused than I thought.

Even in the U.S., the will of the people is limited. There are certain things the government cannot do, even if an overwhelming majority support doing them. You can find a list of these forbidden things in the U.S. Constitution. Most are in the Bill of Rights.

What a silly statement. Nobody thinks that.

As much as I am critical of islam, and I believe their religion is intolerant, violent, and dangerous, I do not support the government outlawing religious symbols of any faith. I think they have put themselves in danger with this decision, and there were others ways to address this issue, I just happen to think they made the wrong choice here. I have long heard the stories coming out of europe about the tension between muslims and the native people, but I did not know it had come to this!

    Nice dodge.

Tell me why it's a lousy comparison.

Either we can have an opinion about what other countries do within their borders, or we can't. Make up your mind.

If the will of the people was that Muslims could be made slaves, would you still think it's good? The rights of the individual restrict what actions the government may properly take. When it acts against those rights and liberties, it's treasonous and needs to stop.

Pure democracy, which you seem to endorse here, is nothing more than mob rule.
You know the time is right to take control, we gotta take offense against the status quo

How about if the Swiss made their own people slaves? How about if we had slaves in this country (again)?

The idea that we can't have any opinion about anything another country does is pure bull.

What it primarily boils down to (imo) is that if people want to move to a different country, with different cultural values and mores, then those immigrants should not expect their culture to be accepted into the mainstream. If I moved to Saudi Arabia, I would expect to live by Saudi customs. If I was not able to accept the customs, I would not move there.
