Health Care Reform Support for Health Care Plan Falls to New Low

The public is against the democrats and Obama yet they know what is best. What a bunch of elitist.

Health Care Reform - Rasmussen Reports

Just 38% of voters now favor the health care plan proposed by President Obama and congressional Democrats. Thatís the lowest level of support measured for the plan in nearly two dozen tracking polls conducted since June.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 56% now oppose the plan.

Kinda like most Americans where against the surge, and yet Bush went with it anyway...that damn elitist.

Just an odd thing, but the poll says 38 % of voters favor the plan proposed by Obama and congressional democrats. Is that the house democrats and their plan, or the senate democrats and their plan?

Apples to oranges. The commander in chief decisions is different than making a law to take over one sixth of the economy.

If the effects of the surge hold it will prove to be one of the few good things Bush did because it will save lives in the future. I hope.

The "Obama I Don't Really Care About Your Health Kill Granny Plan" will cost lives. The first salvo was fired at woman over mammograms.

It may be the fog is clearing from peoples eyes and they are beginning to figure out that this debacle has very little to do with helping anyone and everything to do with taking over another portion of the economy. If it were about Health Care it would address at least a few of the issues in a straight forward matter and in less than 20 pages not 2,000.
It would also not have a $300,000,000 Louisiana Purchase in it.

    Not a surprise really.
It's a ****ty plan. Nobody is getting what they expect.
One side wants all of their health care provided by the government at no charge.
The other side wants the govenrment to stay out of it completely.
I guess that leaves 38% of the people. Most of those I would guess have no idea what the plan will actullay do for them.
    From the ashes.

I think that a number of people in both houses of Congress best take a few pictures so they can remember what it looks like there in the halls Capitol, because a lot of them are in the process of spending their last year in office.

As the poll numbers across the board show the "Obama I Don't Really Care About Your Health Kill Granny Plan" is hurting the Dims (no spell error)and the case could be made that it's helping Sarah Palin in the polls. That and all the Obamaedia bashing she's taking.

Palin's favorable ratings are now up to 43%, according to ABC, while Obama among Americans has slid to 49% or 48%.

Sixty percent (60%) of voters believe passage of Health Care bill will lead to higher health care costs.

62% Say Congress More Responsive To Media Than To Voters

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Monday shows that 28% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Forty-one percent (41%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -13 (see trends).
    These numbers are available @ http://www.rasmussenreports.com/ and @ http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/wash...ers-are-c.html

No good Dem news today that's for sure.

Not exactly, as if you ask a more general question like "Do you support a public option?" the majority of Americans will say yes. And if you ask "Do you support a government takeover of healthcare?" the majority will say no. In this case, they're talking about statistics about the specific health care bill(s?) we have right now. You can oppose the current bills without wanting "the government to stay out of it completely." For example, you could oppose a mandate while supporting a public option. You would not support the current bills, but you would support government in healthcare.

So it's a stretch to assume if 38% said they support the bill that 62% don't want government in health care. That's not what they polled.

Lieberman says no to public option.

Lieberman Digs In on Public Option - WSJ.com

Sen. Joseph Lieberman, speaking in that trademark sonorous baritone, utters a simple statement that translates into real trouble for Democratic leaders: "I'm going to be stubborn on this."

Stubborn, he means, in opposing any health-care overhaul that includes a "public option," or government-run health-insurance plan, as the current bill does. His opposition is strong enough that Mr. Lieberman says he won't vote to let a bill come to a final vote if a public option is included.

Probe for a catch or caveat in that opposition, and none is visible. Can he support a public option if states could opt out of the plan, as the current bill provides? "The answer is no," he says in an interview from his Senate office. "I feel very strongly about this." How about a trigger, a mechanism for including a public option along with a provision saying it won't be used unless private insurance plans aren't spreading coverage far and fast enough? No again.

So any version of a public option will compel Mr. Lieberman to vote against bringing a bill to a final vote? "Correct," he says.

There's a difference. In a case like that, the president has an obligation to the troops, to the country they are liberating, as well as the surrounding countries and the other countries fighting. Besides, this was about a strategy for fighting a war, not whether to fight the war or not.

They both suck, just in slightly different ways.

So doing what the public wants only matters when you want it to matter. That makes sense...

They both suck, just in slightly different ways.
Irrelevant to my question. There are two plans, the poll as the link reads does not differentiate between the two. How can you accurately gauge the opinion of people with misleading questions?
