If it were a Republican doing it they would just tell the second place winners to stop whining unless they have reason to complain. We have all witnessed it.
The President can appoint anybody he wants. I would still like to see why his appointees are not qualifed for these positions? A person has to have previous ambassadore experience to be qualified for the appointments? What is the exact diplomatic experience that the people need in order to be qualified?

Alright, now that we've established both sides of the "2-Party" system would be doing it, let's throw them all out and start over.

I say let's wait about 7 years and 2 months to make that change...the second place winners just have to roll with it until then...

I'm still trying to figure out what GD's political lean is. It's a total mystery...

What President in the past 40 years ran on a campaign focused around a "Change to Politics as Usual", a Change from political cronism, a Change from corruption and kick backs?

    That's right, Barack Obama.

On things like this that is why Obama gets more critisism than others. He geared a LARGE portion of his campaign around complaining about this very type of thing, used these type of issues as a way to push his "Change" message and get people on board with him, and that's why this is a bigger issue for him. Its why him having lobbyists in his administration was a bigger issue. Its why executive orders for him was a bigger issue. Yes, they're things every President does...but they're things he specifically campaigned against and geared his campaign message around changing. As such, you can't say "well everyones done it" because that message is the very thing that helped get him elected.

Let's see. Before Obama was inaugurated he said there would be political appointments. Obama never promised to abolish political appointments. Ambassadorships are not civil service positions. A bundler is someone who likely supports Obama's positions and will be a loyal voice in the world's capitals. There are no assertions that any of these people will do harm in their positions.

    What's the scandal again?

Oh yea, bash Obama for not keeping a promise he never made.

Why would a successful businessman (requirement to be a big donor) not be qualified to be Ambassador to Fiji? What is it about that job that requires a background other than being educated, qualified, responsible, and eager for the position?

I think that's why those jobs are there. I mean, what responsibility does an ambassador have besides looking good at dinner?
