Sarah Palin gives Oprah biggest audience in two years

75 people had better grades than him and only 8 were dumber than he was. But you feel free to choose a surgeon that finished in the bottom 2% of his class to operate on you.

I actually got kicked out of High School but went on to undergrad and grad school at two top rated colleges in my field.

You are entitled to your opinion, but I wouldn't want a slacker handling by legal affairs and finishing near the bottom of his class is a good indication of his character. Of course, plagiarizing in law school might have contributed to his low standing. But that is also a testament to his character isn't it?

He plagiarized in law school and repeated the offense in 1988 during his presidential bid. I'd say his actions in law school were a good indicator of his actions as an adult.
finishing near the bottom is NOT an indication of his CHARACTER. you're completely wrong on this.

Seems dumb? Cause her manner of speech is not polished ivy league?

Or was it that one interview?

Joe Biden has said pretty much the dumbest things ever to come out of an elected politicians mouth, yet I don't see you guys giving him **** for it...
i want to know why she sounds like someone from the UP.........her cultivated corn is creepy, you betcha.

Do you consider plagiarizing TWICE to be an indication of character??

Ahhhh... the seething hatred and lack of class that has become the trademark of the modern progressives of today.

You support Sarah Palin and whine about "lack of class"? :rofl

i commented on your assertion that finishing near the bottom was a reflection of character. it's clearly not, you're wrong.

after you admit that, we can discuss plagiarism.

It's either an indication of his intelligence or character. Has to be one or the other. He was either too dumb to do well in class or didn't have enough character to apply himself to the classes.

Um.... are you aware of John McCain's academic 'achievement', and did you vote for him?

Somehow I suspect that Editor of Harvard Law Review isn't good enough either. :2razz:

There have been at least four things that Biden has accomplished in his career which Palin hasn't. Can you name them?

Asked a cripple in a wheelchair to stand up.

Has breakfast regularly at a restaurant that has been closed for 30 years.

Regularly flosses his teeth with his shoelaces.

Can spell JOBS with just 3 letters.

How's that?

Somehow I suspect that Editor of Harvard Law Review isn't good enough either. :2razz:

Wait a minute, I thought class standing and achievements didn't matter. Can't have it both ways.

Not that one.. he'd probably steal the change out of my pocket.

I still don't see the point you are getting at.
So what there were people more brilliant than the surgeon in the bottom 2% of his class.

A. This doesn't necessarily mean he is "dumb" and doesn't know what he is doing.

B. If he graduated and passed all his residency it shows that he has the knowledge required to do the job, if he has been doing the job for quite some time with no problems, then I don't see what the issue is.

Where you were ranked among your peers in college doesn't mean you are suddenly an idiot.

I'd be damn proud to be 88th of 88 students graduating from Harvard Law School.

Palin scares the left big time.......She will be a factor in 2012 if she wants to be.....She would be a shoo in for the senate from Alaska.........

I'm not the one having it both ways ;)

edit: Actually, I suspect you are trying to have it three ways:
Joe Biden's law school rank is HORRIBLE!
John McCain's is irrelevent!
And Barack Obama's academic successes were b/c of affirmative action!

mirite?

So, are you aware of McCain's 'academic achievement' and did you vote for him?

Ya know, I've noticed this... "Bash Palin" trend only runs in people that want to seem smart, and witty. They cannot tell you WHY they dislike her, other then what the media tells them to think about her...

Fascinating.

That has been something that has irked me since day one when she got nominated and the rabid, mouth foaming hate started almost immediately.

You ask any of them policy questions about Palin and they can't speak an ounce of truth because they just don't know any more than she was the butt of a joke from Tina Fey and she is supposed to be a prolife nazi. Can't tell you why she is supposed to be a prolife nazi...just that she DEFINITELY, MOST CERTAINLY IS a prolife nazi.

And that she can "see Russia from her house".

Perhaps during the Presidential campaign she did, but I don't think she does at this point. If she does run for any political office, her opponent's main line of attack will inevitably be the fact that she quit as governor. I'm sure her core will support her regardless, but a majority of people who are undecided about her won't simply because they don't want a quitter.

And many on the left have difficulty understanding why she has a huge fanbase. I think that the public has scrutinized her from day one because she lets that stuff get to her. She just isn't cut out for the cut-throat world of politics. Plus, much of the hatred was due to the fact that it was clear to many that McCain chose her more as a political strategy than because of her credentials.

I guess you are not seeing the crowds she is drawing even with all the lies the left tells about her...........She quit as governor to concentrate on getting other conservatives elected......She almost singlehandedly made the race in district 23 in New York viable.........Lik I said I personally would like the see her run or the senate in 2012 and then for president in 2016..

This is exactly what I am talking about. If you look at her record dealing with the politics of Alaska, she is more than capable.

Of course, in Alaska, she didn't have a mouthfoaming liberal hate club out to do anything to get The Empty Suit elected even at the expense of destroying anyone and anything in their path so...

No I'm seeing the crowds she's drawing. She has a huge fan base, there is no denying that. Regardless of what her justification was for quitting as governor it will be used as a line of attack and I predict it will be rather effective.

She was definitely picked more for political strategy than credentials imho.

But then again, so was Biden.

McCain needed a young, fresh, exciting candidate, preferably a minority or woman, to counter many of the negatives of his campaign/positives of Obama's.

Obama needed an experienced, more populist, preferably white male, to counter many of the negatives of his campaign/positives of Obama's.

I think people on both sides are fooling themselves if they think the primary reason either of the VP candidates were picked was simply credentials.

Monday's episode of "The Oprah Winfrey Show" drew a 8.7 household rating and 13 share -- the best since Winfrey had the entire Osmond family on the show in 2007.

Are you telling us that the Messiah couldn't draw more numbers than the Osmonds?

Well, in Alaska she was still relatively unknown. If you are running for a high office you had better prepare for some serious criticism and scrutiny. I don't think she was at all prepared for that. It's also not just liberals who have been attacking her. Plenty of people on the right have been doing so as well. Many accused her as being part of the reason why the GOP was so split apart during the last Presidential campaign.

"The Messiah" isn't nearly as polarizing as Sarah Palin is. Plus, Palin at one time believed she was being snubbed by Oprah. I'm sure people tuned in expecting to see some sort of drama related to that as well.
