Afghanistan can produce opium.
and a **** ton of it at that.

We should just leave before our troops become addicted.
It would be awful if we have to deal with a bunch of homeless addicts like after Vietnam.
Awww, you always do this. Why do you always feel the need to "elaborate" on your initial opinions?
There are no more soldiers "addicted" or "suffering" from opium than there are everyday, average citizens within the States abusing opiates and other similar substances.
Yes, but soldiers come back and have no employment.
That makes it even more dangerous for them to get addicted.
Maybe we should just keep invading countries.
It's not like spending matters anymore.
Got any statistics on this?
If it were true, maybe. But no more than anyone else that's addicted. not to mention having a Military background regardless puts you at least one step ahead of the average junkie.
It'd be funny if you were really being sarcastic.
Well, our troops are already deployed in the area...
We could just wipe all of those troublesome Muslim countries off the face of the Earth.
We could get something done... that way when our soldiers come home, we can say they defeated an actual enemy and accomplished some actual goal.
I think that if Mecca is erased, Muslims will go insane, as they will have no direction to pray to. They will go even more insane than they already are.
They might kill each other faster.
There's 1 billion Muslims, so we better get started if we wanna finish them off within our lifetime.
Whip, that better not be you behind that name....

Then Obama should get off of cap and trades and healthcare and fix the economy so they have jobs when they get out.
Indeed. There never even was a war against those actually responsible for 9/11, the Saudis, enabled by elements within the American government. Instead, support for the Wahhabi Saudi regime was maintained. The 9/11 attack would hardly have occurred were it not for Wahhabism, yet America has continued to subsidize it. The U.S. military toppled a major check on Tehran's power and then proceeded to bog itself down in Afghanistan. Osama and other terrorists originally funded, armed and trained by the CIA remain at large. As a result of Uncle Sam's latest round of kicking over beehives abroad, millions of people who were not previously receptive to recruitment by Islamist terrorists are now. The likelihood of another 9/11 is thereby increased. Mission failed, unless the mission is ongoing war for profit. We know how Afghanistan will play out. There's no reason for Obama to not crack open a mother****ing history book and look at what the Goat herders did to the Soviets. Providing the Russians are funding and equipping them, we've still got to fight ****s that were armed and trained by Americans.
I'm very happy to see a Presdient who actually stands his principles and doesn't rush into a decision despite the fools who have come to expect that out of a leader. I'd much rather have someone that takes the time and makes a right decision than one who continually makes quick bad ones.
Get your a** in the bunk you have an early delivery tomorrow.
So apparently he has made a decision. but wants to limelight it with a prime time address NEXT WEEK?
Furthermore, basically he i saying to McChrystal he can have 35k of the 40k requested...
so he took from august to now, to say "yes"... meanwhile it has been the deadliest year in these wars history....
Obama fiddles while we suffer. He's a fool
Ask Obama he said he will finish the Job.
Obama promises to 'finish the job' in Afghanistan
Signaling an imminent decision on Afghanistan troop levels, President Barack Obama said Tuesday he intends to "finish the job" and destroy terrorist networks in the region.
Afghanistan can produce opium.
Get your a** in the bunk you have an early delivery tomorrow.
This surge will not work, these people are not the same people that live in Iraq! These people are uneducated, they rely on religion to guide them, not government, not......well, I don't want to bash these poor ignorant people, but they are cavemen, they really are.
Bring our troops home!
Are you completely incapable of answering any hard question that questions your ideology?
Then Obama should get off of cap and trades and healthcare and fix the economy so they have jobs when they get out.
That's right, and for a damn good political reason. They control the biggest chunk of oil over there, and provide a landing strip.Indeed. The president doesn't control or even influence the economy.
The president has no power over the economy.
No president has ever had power over the economy.
The president can't fix the economy.
Yet he is hurting the economy. His policies can and do influence the economy. So cap and trade and the health care will not affect the economy?
