Well educated, like someone saying to a career Marine Gunnery Sergeant for a link proving to them something that they should have been taught in the seventh grade?

So where is the proof Iraq is better educated. How is sitting under Saddam different from sitting under the Taliban. The beheadings in Iraq must be proof of their education.

4: the political opinions or sympathies of a person
5a: the total complex of relations between people living in society b: relations or conduct in a particular area of experience especially as seen or dealt with from a political point of view

Here is gunny’s quote (Iraqis are of the most educated people in the Middle East.)Note the underlined words.

Now here is your quote. (So where is the proof Iraq is better educated.) I left out your meaningless references to the Taliban and beheading, as they have no bearing on what were discussing.

Do you see the difference in the term (Iraqis are of-Gunny) and (Iraq is better- you)?

As for as the education in the Middle East, you think of literacy, not Universities and Colleges. I imagine that before the war, the Iraq’s were more than likely in the middle of the pack.

According to this article, sometime between 1969 and1976, he instituted a nation-wide literacy project, non-attendance punishable by three years in jail. Man that’s an incentive to learn to read.

<He instituted a nation-wide literacy project, non-attendance punishable by three years in jail. Hundreds of thousands of illiterate Iraqi men, women and children learned to read. >

You ever try finding a non partisan link for an opinion?

So where is the proof of better educated. People that still behead and destroy their country for tribal pride do not show they are better educated.

Read post #230 again and get back to me when you can show me where gunny said anything about better. When does the term (Iraqis are of) equate to better?

Iraqis are of the most educated people in the Middle East. This is different than Afghanistan.

So different here does not mean better educated?

Are you denying this or something?
It's pretty common knowledge, isn't it, that Iraq was- until recently- a comparatively prosperous and progressive nation with a high percentage of college-educated professionals, while Afghanistan is and always has been a bass-ackward, third-world tribal podunk with the highest poverty rate and lowest standard of living in the world?

I mean, this has been my impression.
    Had you heard something different?

I have seen no proof of what is common knowledge to those of you who claim it.
