Remember, the liberal media doesn't exist

Sarah Palin is no normal politician, and at the Associated Press, apparently "Going Rogue" is no normal book.

When the former Republican vice presidential candidate and former Alaska governor wrote her autobiography, the AP found a copy before its release date and assigned 11 people to fact check all 432 pages.

The AP claims Palin misstated her record with regard to travel expenses and taxpayer-funded bailouts, using statements widely reported elsewhere. But it also speculated into Palin's motives for writing "Going Rogue: An American Life," stating as fact that the book "has all the characteristics of a pre-campaign manifesto."

Palin quickly hit back on a Facebook post titled "Really? Still Making Things Up?"

"Imagine that," the post read. "11 AP reporters dedicating time and resources to tearing up the book, instead of using the time and resources to 'fact check' what's going on with Sheik Mohammed's trial, Pelosi's health care takeover costs, Hasan's associations, etc. Amazing."

The organization did not review for accuracy recent books by the late Sen. Ted Kennedy, then-Sen. Joe Biden, either book by Barack Obama released before he was president or autobiographies by Bill or Hillary Clinton. The AP did more traditional news stories on those books.

This really is shameless. 0 for liberal books but Palin gets 11 fact checkers

this is easy to explain-

The media refuse's to fact check Liberals because they're afraid of what they'll find.

i find it interesting that you omitted this part of the article:

The attraction to Palin doesn't appear to be partisan, since AP didn't fact-check recent political tomes by Republicans Rudy Giuliani or Newt Gingrich.[/go figure.

Considering the interviews and comedic mockery involving Palin during the Presidential campaign, it's not at all surprising that they are putting her under so much scrutiny. I really don't think it's a partisan move, because as the above poster pointed out; they would be fact checking all right wing books and not just hers. Does this justify their absurd fact checking? Not at all. They are merely doing it because she's still a hot topic and any story about her is going to make for good ratings/sales/etc. It's more about sensationalism than political bias.

i'm the above poster.....lol.

It IS Partisan, but it's also personal. There is a real hate for Palin on the left... The enemy of my enemy is my friend.

i have to tell you, i'm a liberal and i adore her and all she's done for the republican party.

Never in the history of politics, have I ever seen anyone attacked the way the media has attacked Palin. If she had stolen millions from the Alaskan treasury, or was a grand wizard of the KKK, then I might understand it. The only thing she's done, is dare to be a very popular conservative woman.

What's so funny is, they invest so much time and resources attacking the woman, while at the same time proclaiming she's a "joke" and she doesn't matter politically. If she doesn't matter, then why is she such big news to them?

.

Tongue firmly implanted in cheek no doubt..... Look, the reason that the AP does what they do concerning Palin, or the Daily Show, SNL, or for that matter Newsweek, who this week stole a photo from a running magazine to try and embarrass her, is two fold, they hate her to the point of mental illness, and 2, they are scared ****less of her.

she's a train wreck. that's why. she keeps herself in the spotlight, why shouldn't she have to deal with the glare?

are you telling me you actually take her seriously?

I don't think many on the left hate her. Perhaps they did a bit when she was running with McCain. Now she's kind of a joke to them (she even was a bit back then too). Hating her would imply that they actually care. I think they get a kick out of taking pot shots at her. I personally have no problem with her at all. I think she's absolutely gorgeous and quite intelligent. I think she got in over her head during the campaign in the cut-throat world of politics. I think that it takes a very specific type of person with incredibly thick skin to be able to properly navigate the world of politics and I don't think she's that kind of a person.

"stole a photo"? she posed for that photo, who cares?

i don't believe anyone is scared of her......except maybe todd.

when was the last time you saw campaign staffers crucify a candidate? what does that tell you?

if you were thinking reasonably, you would realize that newsweek wants to sell their product, just as palin wants to sell hers. it's all about the $$.

What exactly are they scared of at this point? Perhaps during the campaign they were scared of her being the vice-President, but now? Because of all of the crap surrounding her I honestly don't think she has a chance of winning if she ran again. I'm not saying that in a partisan way either. She has a big fan base, but there are far too many people out there who think she's a joke or just don't like her.

It tells me that Romney's former staffers were trying to shoot down her chances for 2012.

ROMNEY ANTI-PALIN

Former Mitt Romney presidential campaign staffers, some of whom are currently working for Sen. John McCain and Gov. Sarah Palin's bid for the White House, have been involved in spreading anti-Palin spin to reporters, seeking to diminish her standing after the election. "Sarah Palin is a lightweight, she won't be the first, not even the third, person people will think of when it comes to 2012," says one former Romney aide, now working for McCain-Palin. "The only serious candidate ready to challenge to lead the Republican Party is Mitt Romney. He's in charge on November 5th."

---------

Some former Romney aides were behind the recent leaks to media, including CNN, that Governor Sarah Palin was a "diva" and was going off message intentionally. The former and current Romney supporters further are pushing Romney supporters for key Republican jobs, including head of the Republican National Committee.

(In the voice of Sam Shepard in "The Right Stuff")

Because they are scared.

wallace was a former romney aide? who are these former aides?

It's easy to explain.

The media is terrified of Palin and the silent majority of Americans that agree with her.

The very VERY last thing the media wants is a strong conservative female to oppose their annointed Messiah in another election.

Majority? What majority would that be? Hell, if it truly was a majority why didn't her and McCain win?

What part of 'silent' did you miss? You know, the people who'd rather eat maggoty cheese than vote for socialists like McCain and Obama and Bush.

Do you have any proof of this "silent" majority? Ah, so McCain and Bush are socialists too now? You sure seem to throw that word around like cheap candy.

Why do you liberals start so many threads about Palin?

That is a joke that just keeps on working...

What's so funny is, they invest so much time and resources attacking the woman, while at the same time proclaiming she's a "joke" and she doesn't matter politically. If she doesn't matter, then why is she such big news to them?

.

Because they are scared to death of people like her. Any time you see ideologues screaming about someone, it's because they are worried.

she's a train wreck. that's why. she keeps herself in the spotlight, why shouldn't she have to deal with the glare?

Here's where I call "Bull Chips".

Joe Biden is a certified "train wreck" not only to conservatives, but to democrats as well. Every time he speaks publicly, he undermines the administration and plants his foot firmly in his mouth. He has made more gaffs in the first 10 months of this administration, as well as on the campaign trail, then the last half dozen VP's have in their entire political careers.

We see Biden as an embarrassment and a huge liability to the democratic party, so the last thing in the world we would ever want to do is destroy the man. We laugh when he screws up, and then we move on.

You people on the left claim that she isn't a political threat to democrats, but instead a political asset. You tout her prominence in the republican party as a dream come true, and claim if she runs for office, it will assure democratic victory at the polls... Yet on nearly a daily basis, democratic pundits, the liberal media and people like you, expend huge amounts of time and energy trying to destroy the woman by discrediting her words, and convincing people of how politically irrelevant she is.

Sorry, but your actions speak 10 times louder than your words ever will.

are you telling me you actually take her seriously?

Absolutely.

I don't know if I would ever vote for her or not... only time will tell... but she sure as hell has my attention. Sarah Palin has qualities that I think this country is in desperate need of. She is a plain spoken, down to earth woman, that has 10 years of successful political service, including executive experience as governor. She is the only prominent politician from either side of the isle, that has taken on the corruption within their own party, and isn't afraid to call a spade, a spade.

As time goes on, we'll see who she is, and what she's made of.

.

What exactly are they scared of at this point? Perhaps during the campaign they were scared of her being the vice-President, but now?

They are scared because Palin was able to motivate the group of Americans who are usually quiet, polite, and unobtrusive. Palin was, in effect, and probably unintentionally the basis of what is a growing movement of people who are sick of politics as usual. Sick of republicans, sick of democrats, sick of insane spending and trying to micromanage the lives of individuals. They are sick of supporting those who want to sit on their a**es and collect a check, while they work hard and struggle to take care of their own families. They are sick of the nanny state, both personal and corporate, they are sick of special interests, and they are sick of hearing people scream everytime the word "god" is spoken. I could go on, but you probably get the gist.

Palin ran on the republican ticket, but she is not representative of what has become the republican party- or maybe it always was the republican party, and many people just had no clue. Whatever the case, lots of people are extremely disenfranchised with politics as usual, and she is the antithesis of the standard politician.

They're not scared of her. Sarah Palin is a straw man. If she represents conservatism, then American liberals will bash her accent, that she left the governorship, etc. It's an easy target so that they don't have to really debate political theory.
