AP POLL: Tax the rich to pay for health bill

Life isn't fair. When everyone realizes this and starts working hard for ****, they'll find they get much more. But with the Welfare Pop-stars out there making ends overlap I doubt that will come anytime soon.

Does anyone else think it's a fabulous idea to drug test people on welfare and deny them a check if they test positive?
:2wave:
I do!.............;):);)

That is indeed a fabulous idea.

Although I wonder if the number of people they got off welfare because of the tests would be enough to cover the cost of the testing itself.

A majority supports a government-sponsored heath insurance plan to compete with private insurers.
Do you know why an appeal to popularity is a logical fallacy?

Random testing, keep 'em guessing.......;)

All this is designed to appeal to the welfare class.
And therefore gain and retain as much power for the Democratic poarty as possible.

That's only part of it. The more significant issue is how do we get people out from a system of unhealthy lifestyles...
If you're going to force me to pay for their health care, then I see no problem with forcing them to give uo those lifestyles by making their receiipt of said health care contingent on same.

If they choose to retain their lifestyle, then they choose to forfeit their health care.

That's exactly right. The best way for the poor man's party to stay in power is to create more poor people.

And to make sure that the poor stay that way.

"Hey, who cares about the other guy so long as I get mine free."

The mantra for the 22nd century.:(

Here's the wonderful irony.

Those that oppose the tax will be called "greedy" by the defenders of it for daring to want to keep the money they earned and use it as they see best...

...but will NEVER use the term for people who want to have the government forcefully take money from people and then have the government give themselves completely unearned services for free.

Its apparently greedy to want what you earn, but not greedy to want what others earned.

And, therein lies the biggest problem with Liberalism.

I don't call them greedy, I call them Dupes (the ones from the middle class who won't actually be subject to the tax) or Enemies of America (The rich folk who oppose the tax).

There won't be anyone who isn't subject to the tax.

Of course we have to tax the rich, for the same reason Willie Sutton robbed banks, because that is where the money is...:2razz:

Who else can we tax?

BTW, I am probably considered rich.....over $600K in property assets, about $100K in savings, and a 6 figure retirement income....more than enough for me and the wife to enjoy the rest of our days....

Let me synopsize the OP....

That was the propaganda part.

That is the rest of the poll that shows that government run health care is not supported by the people as the propaganda piece tried to show.

Now if you can't understand that, take 50 Tylenol and call me in the morning.

What does any of that have to do with how people think the health care bill should be paid for?

You are labeling it propaganda because the review left out survey results that had nothing to do with the review. This wasn't a review of how people felt about the health care bill or the overall public opinion. It was how people surveyed thought the bill should be paid for.

i'm not in favor of the public option, but i do believe there are a lot of senate dems/independents who are caucusing against there own party for the wrong reason. Lieberman is obviously blocking the bill because of collateral he owed to health issuance companies that funded his campaign.

do i think they should tax the rich? no, i believe in a flat tax. but regardless of how this bill is payed for, it's likely going to pass. and it does have some positives to balance out the negatives. hopefully this will work.

When you tax the rich, the economy prospers.

BTW, I am probably considered rich.....over $600K in property assets, about $100K in savings, and a 6 figure retirement income....more than enough for me and the wife to enjoy the rest of our days....
That ain't rich, bill. A million a year in adjusted gross income makes you rich.

That's just it dumb dumb..... the majority don't want it, just look at the polls.

It's the stupid democrats that want to shove this crap down our throats, just wait until the next election.
Given the quality of Republican officials I am assuming the Dems will have 70% stronghold in the senate.
