In the Bay Area, vet center officials said higher caseloads of Iraq and Afghanistan veterans have stretched resources and, in some cases, required staff to meet less frequently with veterans. Yet, vet centers are not at the breaking point, they said. Numbers are not overwhelming us at this point, said Dick Talbott, who oversees the 31 vet centers in California, Oregon, Hawaii and Guam.

    who,s this troll?
The haggardness of poverty is everywhere seen contrasted with the sleekness of wealth, the exhorted labor of some compensating for the idleness of others, wretched hovels by the side of stately colonnades, the rags of indigence blended with the ensigns of opulence; in a word, the most useless profusion in the midst of the most urgent wants.Jean-Baptiste Say

The "additional illnesses were added one month after an audit showed that 11,000 veterans' disability claims have been pending for more than a year. In a letter to VA Secretary Eric Shinseki, Forbes asked if the VA had a plan to avoid further delays and whether it has the capacity to deal with the increased caseload."

the va can't handle the increased caseloads. we need a tax hike on the rich to pay for better care for disabled vets.

You're better off letting people save money. They won't save it forever. People want to do it, so let them. If you don't let them, then you face repercussions from those actions.

well the consensus among economists appears to be that saving money is anti-stimulative.

The consensus among economists didn't see a bubble so the appeal to authority is not only illogical, it's also stupid.

well, keynes was an economist. he felt deficit spending would get us out of a depression. during ww2 the national debt was larger than the national economy. no more depression. keynes was correct.
