Government Starts New Fiscal Year Deeply in the Red

    By MATTHEW JAFFE
    Nov. 12, 2009

The U.S. budget deficit for October surged to $176 billion, a record for the month, the Treasury Department announced today.

During the month, the government racked up $311 billion in outlays compared with $135 billion in receipts.

The October numbers mark the first month for the new fiscal year after the U.S. wrapped up the 2009 fiscal year that ended on September 30 with a record-high $1.4 trillion budget deficit due to increased government spending to stop the recession and the financial crisis. The final deficit for the 2009 fiscal year was equal to 10 percent of the nation's GDP, the highest shortfall relative to GDP since 1945, the final year of World War II.

No, the solution is a new world order. These governments have come to the conclusion that they cannot take what sits in banks, trusts, etc, the next step is a new currency, making all of that worthless.

The government does not do this. If you believe so, do you have source?

Are you allowed to do that in your daily life?
You mean take out a loan? Yeah sure.

Re: Federal Deficit Hits October Record of $176 Billion

economy, economy, economy is central on the minds of middle americans

i don't think i've ever seen a day in my long life where so many of the usual political parameters have been boiled down to this ONE

    it's spelled J-O-B-S

even biden can cipher it, but he can't count the letters

funny aside---i saw conan do a bit, it was called bigmouth biden bass

it was the plastic fish fakely mounted on the wall which you're accustomed to seeing

but when it rotated its fish head 90 degrees to the left to face you full on, instead of saying whatever the famous flounder became famous for saying, it went, in the veep's very voice:

when i was 20 and growing up on the streets of scranton my dad was a postman, and he'd go into the barbershop and talk to the fellas back in the days after the war and find out just what was going on in the lives of average folks who go to 7-11's and buy their coffee and donuts in the morning, and when he'd come home to my mom he'd be full of stories about...

    and on...

    and on...

    and on...

    but, back to obama

he's gonna "pivot" now, he telegraphs, to the economy/jobs/spending/deficits...

    LOL!

talk about a president with no street cred on the topic

all he's done so far in the way of trying to "help" turn the only issue most americans really care about is his "stimulus," cap and trade and health care

and now, precipitously, he's gonna spin?

    gentlefolk are gonna guffaw

if he'd really wanted to help he could've devoted part of the 787B to a 2-year halving of payroll taxes

THAT would have created job growth

instead, he let pelosi write the thing which, no surprise, became the worst of beltway bacon, traditional pork, all earmarked up

money for turtles and masseuses and sex studies and radioactive bunny droppings

and a thousand other silly points of light

    so he suddenly hears virginia?

i just knew those big ears would some day pay off

No not really it is not. It is primarily very wealthy peoples money. Regardless of "whose"... were you getting pissed off when Bush expanded the defense budget by hundreds of billions of dollars? Of course not.

My question is, why is spending arbitrary to both liberals and conservatives?

Yes, it is called the national debt clock.....

You mean take out a loan? Yeah sure.
Again, check out the national debt clock, as well as the recent bubble that burst, and well, I could go on all day......

I think you need to rethink the "libertarian' tag on your bio, and just replace it with "confused"

Because it's not THEIR money. And I am mad whenever I have to pay the government for a lot of things. I'm a minarchist. In relation to government, I'll take the Basic Package.

No. But not because i believe government spending per se is bad.
