Obama Suggests Still Possible Hasan May Have Cracked Under Stress

Not at all what I asked. I want answers, and I want security. No where have I suggested not going after any one, and in fact I have suggested the opposite. Reading the thread before commenting is a good idea.

Reading my post before assuming is also a good idea.

Yes you did, right here:

I assume you are referring to "extraordinary rendition", and in that case, no.

So when I asked you if you wanted to just go in and snatch someone from a sovereign location you were fine with it, but throw in rendition into the mix and then it becomes no. What would you like to do, take them to a movie?

Well, damn. Of course he cracked under stress. Let's see...

1) Palestinian parents.
2) A die hard Muslim himself.
3) A member of a militrary force that is at "war with Muslims."
4) People made fun of him.
5) Not respected for his anti-Americanist views.
6) Not respected for his views on the heroics of suicide bombers.
7) Being forced to deploy to said war.

Oh and..

7) Direct correspondance with Pakistanis?

Eventually, most fanatics crack under the stress of what will and will not please his god. I'm sure his parents were pleased of his station in life against the Muslim people. For Hasan, he was stressed ever since America reacted to 9/11. He embarked upon a suicide mission just like anybody else with a vest. He chose to not take his revenge out on the individuals who hurt his feelings, but upon anybody in an American uniform. He had "higher" revenge in mind.

Most individuals who crack under stress put a gun in their mouth. Postal workers shoot up post offices. Anti-abortion shooters focus on abortion clinics. What do Islamic extremists do? Kill an American?

Dont forget one of the most important points.

He carefully purchased the most powerful handgun he could find.

Then he closed up his apartment and gave away all his possessions. He even gave the landlord back the key.

Someone who "just snapped" or who was mentally deranged doesn't go through that careful of a process.

It really is getting ridiculous watching people desperating trying to avoid the facts of his motives.

He was an Islamic Terrorist, period.

SHHH! You can't go saying that! It isn't politically correct to assume such things!

He was a Terrorist, who just so happened, by no fault of his own, to be Islamic.

Funny how liberals screamed racism immediately when it came to that police officer arresting Obama's buddy but when Americans are actually murdered by an Islamic Terrorist, they are so careful not to offend anyone.:roll:

Actually, MEN tend to take other people with them when they encounter this kind of scenario. WOMEN tend to suicide. Most mass murderers are men.

I noticed that, too. Political correctness sucks. Especially when it dictates one's every opinion.

So are street gangs in New York charged with terrorism? Because they do the same thing. Again, you are grasping at straws here.

Terrorism can be a criminal charge, however they're going to prosecute street gangs and other domestic terrorists like other criminals. The KKK doesn't get terrorism charges, they get hate crime charges. It's all about context.

Correct, EpicDude86.

If a KKK'er commits a crime the feds will charge them with that crime, and throw a hate crime book at them too, if it is applicable.

Same goes for gangbangers - if they commit a crime the court will charge them for that crime and their gang affiliation will add time to their penalty - the judge will also throw a gang affiliation book at them.

Anyway.

I think too many people are splitting hairs over this one - there is no doubt that they are terrorists, and they have commited a heinous crime against America, and humanity as a whole, but the Obama administration chose to try them in federal court versus a military one - this is their choice like it or not - now, if they start putting Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, and the CIA on trial, then I say it is wrong, wrong, wrong - they are not the ones charged and on trial, the ones charged out of GITMO for what they did should be the only concern for the trial - all else is not relevant to the trial. Show the crime they committed, prove it was them, and then sentence them for it.

Also, I believe technically it would be better to try them in federal court because they are not US soldiers and they did not commit a direct crime against the US military - but this doesn't mean they should walk for what they did, and they won't - but, if they start trying to swing the trial away from the charged and toward us - holler - holler - holler 'til it stops, and rake them over the coals for their attempt.

I say for now, good folks need to pick their battles with this one - watch, see where it goes, but continue to argue for President Dithers to give Gen. McChrystal what he needs - this is a good argument that needs to be heard for the sake of the boots on the ground, and keeping tyranny down. If Afghanistan falls to the weigh-side it will fall to Iran's proxies, in turn Iran, and the same for Iraq if we don't help set up a strong governments their to keep them from taking over the region, and then all else from there until the world is nothing but Islamo Nazis if we allow it.

Don't get me wrong here - I am not against Muslims - there are many, many good Muslims in the world, just as there are Christians, Jews, Buudhists, non-believers, and so on down the line. The fanatics we discuss here on this thread, the ones who are about to go on trial, are a cut from a different cloth - they are intolerant of all others but themselves, and that is even questionable.

The world does not need more intolerance - it needs more tolerance.

Yes it does suck - especially when it causes good men to do nothing when there were clear warnings from co-workers and the terrorist's own mouth.:thinking

Re: Obama now claims stress made the guy kill those soliders

I don't think it's an excuse, it's logical. Think about it, if you were being tortured for information, and you knew it would stop if you gave information (fictional or not), wouldn't you? I'm not saying there is a bigger picture here, but Hasan could be coving for someone. These trials will prove fatal to him, public or not.
