Obama's Afghan Plan: About 40K More Troops

If we come home we have to do it in a more honorable way than the Soviets did.

The Soviets had no choice. They stayed too long and their tactics were predictable. The Mujahadeen learned how to shoot down their helicopters, and were much more adaptable than the Soviet army was. Russia insisted on victory, and got a stinging defeat. They should have pulled out years before with their pride intact.

It's kinda interesting to see, some of the same liberals here, who critisized the Bush administrations surge, stunningly silent on Obama throwing more troops at afghanistan.... Telling very telling indeed.... :ssst:

I don't think a "surge" is in the works. Obama is searching for a way to prosecute the war against Alqaeda without accepting ownership of the entire country. This is what Bush should have done, but he was unable to think beyond his gut decisions.

Obama can't make decisions.

How is 40k more troops not a surge?

My friend, the next three years are going to be real hard for you unless you detach yourself emotionally from Obama.
