Conservative Loses Upstate House Race in Blow to Right

True....however, Limbaugh, Beck and Palin have all been arguing that the party needs to shun moderates. Palin vowed to campaign for candidates that would adopt this new GOP strategy. Her efforts failed big time.

As I've said before.....many times:

PALIN 2012!

Yeah, inform her PAC of that failure. LOL

Maybe its because there are other threads on that topic...but nice attempt to try to deflect the focus of this thread away from a HUGE failure of the new "Conservative" GOP. Thanks for playing though.

Talk about DEFLECTING get a grip but Mr. Hoffman was not the GOP man in this race he was the Third Party Candidate. The GOP candidate who was in the race as a Dim claiming to be a Republican dropped out to muddy the water. In big picture this race was minor compared to Obama failing to aid the corrupt candidate the Messiah in Chief backed.

So are you saying that neither of those insignifcant people are not mouth peices for a certian section of the Republican party who virtually lives of their every word?

I have a question that maybe you can answer GD. I notice that when demo's get dinged lately they just seem to love to go back to commentators from the right that upset them, and tout it as the party being led by these people. Tell me, how are they any different than say Schultz, Olbermann, or Maddow? Don't they spew just as much vitriol from the left? I think so.

In the end I think that people are smart enough to make their own decisions themselves, the difference is that you don't seem to.

Yep, that's exactly what happened, you got it.

How about NJ so sick of the left they turned right?

Any comment there or are you going to spend the weeks ahead talking about the NY 23 race?

V, it was a loss of the Democrats, not the liberals. The voters were angry that they'd moved to the center and lost touch with the party base of liberalism. ;)

I really don't see how the defeat of a crooked governor in New Jersey has anything to do with the "Obama agenda".

When Democrats lose, they turn and eat their own so fast. Were Corzine to win, it would be hailed as a certainty the American people were behind Obama's policies... since it didn't work out that way, it's written off as irrelevant.

The political dishonesty is ripe with sour grapes and the pity party follows.

I couldn't resist

Christie has a perfect conviction record as DA on corruption cases, you do know that don't you?

Why is it that rather than talk about the topic....the right-wingers all want to try to deflect the topic onto Dem losses in the Governor Races. Let me give you all a hint: There is a seperate thread on that topic.

If they only way you can address the Huge Congressional Failure for the New GOP is to deflect....you are bound to repeat the failure.

I am saying that only idiots and bipolar halfwits fail to realize that Limbaugh and Beck are nothing more than entertainers and pundits. Anyone thinking they have any real political power is either wishfully thinking or a deluded partisan hack of either stripe.

Yet.....they are followed by a huge portion of the GOP base. Are you denying that?

Oh yes, because it was like so huge and hurt soooo bad.

This was an off season election. All it did was give a little litmus test for where the electorate sits and where it is headed for the more important elections. That's it.

There was nothing huge about it. But it was very revealing.

There's your answer.

Followed is the denial, they are listened to, not followed. Does the Left follow Rachel Maddow, does the Left "follow" Chris Matthews?

Of course not, you're so transparent, DD.

A Conservative loses one of what? 6? And this is somehow some smashing victory for the Left? :rofl

In the dilusional political land they live in- yes.

Jall....I'm hurt......

That said....Do seriously believe that Beck/Limbaugh have no influence over much of the GOP? I honestly want to hear what you think.

Some do. But Maddow and Matthews have no where near the same influence that Beck/Limbaugh do. The Left-wing generally doesn't follow talk radio in large part.

No. I think they are conversation pieces and occasionally get something right but that's just a matter of them bloviating so much that once in a while it's bound to happen.

No one of any importance gives a damn what Limbaugh and Beck say beyond the casual "Huh...he's right about that" or "Damn, that guy shoots his mouth off too much".

No one except Barry, that is. Which is very telling of the Obamatard administration we are dealing with.

How often do you hear the GOP leadership support Beck or Limbaugh? Yet, how often do you hear the Dem leadership sniping with them?

Now...in light of that...who's really lending the legitimacy to those two? Hint, it ain't the guys they cheerlead for.

How do you explain the members of Congress that are afraid to speak out against him for fear of alienating their supporters?

You're gonna need to document this. I find it hard to believe anyone is afraid of an entertainer. Except Barry and his administration because they seem to be the ones constantly talking about them.

How do you explain the 60k people who showed up in Washington on rather short notice due to Limbaugh and Beck's urgings?

How do you explain the 60k people who showed up in Washington on rather short notice due to Limbaugh and Beck's urgings?

How do you explain John McCain...if neither Rush nor Beck endorsed him, in fact, advised against him being the Republican candidate?

You are gonna have to document that Beck and Limbaugh organized the thing.

I don't see it. Did they talk about it and get the word out there? Sure. But all that says is that people tune in to the train wreck and that people had an interest in that kind of activism. It says nothing about whether they adhere to Beck and Limbaugh's politics.

That "Conservative Party" was the strategy being touted as the New GOP by the right-wing of the party. They were hoping to spread this strategy to the nation. That prospect looks rather bleak at this point.

It was?? I must have missed all the "touting" by the New GOP, whatever that is.

Where do you come up with this crap from???

The right doesn't have a monopoly on pundits that make crap up and mouth off about it. My guess is Olbermann, Mathews, Maddow, or someone on MSNBC used the term and he was just wetting himself to use the same terms today.
