I like that both sides suck so bad, neither could get to over 50%.

Maybe so, that would seem logical since the departing Rep. had no problem getting elected several times. Though, I would posit that Hoffman has garnered plenty of legitimacy in the last three weeks. Probably more national attention than any congressional candidate in years.

I still don't understand why my technically vs. reality comment was so hilarious to you?

Scozzafava got 6% of the vote. That explains everything.

No it doesn't. If one of the candidates was awesome, he'd still have gotten over 50%. It's clear that people are just voting for asshole A or asshole B.

Well what do you know, even a district that is historically Republican couldn't stomach the new conservative agenda.
That's not quite how it went down. Scozzafava, the Republican, dropped out, but his name was still on the ballot, and he got 6%, which would have gone to Doug Hoffman, the Conservative. This was enough to give the Democrats the victory. A split vote is not enough to call it a mandate, nor to make sweeping statements, like the one you just made.

Lovely excuse, I expected as much. The fact is the teabag agenda being touted as the New Voice of Republicans is distasteful to people, as are the obnoxious sycophants who preach it.
