Well what do you know, even a district that is historically Republican couldn't stomach the new conservative agenda.
That guy the Conservative Party ran up there was such a stiff with no connection whatsoever to the area.

NJ replaced a Governor with corruption issues with a candidate with ethical issues. Meet the new boss, same as the old boss...

Virginia independents voted for change--I guess...

    It's in their main story:

Republicans Win Governor's Races in New Jersey, Virginia - FOXNews.com

Republican Chris Christie beats incumbent Democratic Gov. Jon Corzine in New Jersey; Republican Bob McDonnell trounces Democrat Creigh Deeds in Virginia. Democrats prevent a shut-out by winning an upstate New York congressional seat.
They're talking about on TV, too.

If Scozzafava hadn't gotten part of the vote, this could have turned out much different.

On the contrary Prof. Hoffman himself said that he has been a "life long
    Republican".

Well, there was no GOP candidate. He would have surely caucused with the GOP and he got all the heavy-hitter GOP support.

Lieberman ran as an independent when he lost the DEM primary. He caucases with the Dems; however, he does have an independent streak on some issues. Notably, the GWOT and recently, Health care. Lest we forget he was the 2000 Democratic VP candidate.

If Hoffman is the conservative candidate, there is no way, in theory, that he would ever vote with the democrats, so by default you could consider him the GOP candidate.

But technically, you are correct. In reality, you are not.

Why is that funny? I don't get it. My premise is pretty sound. Technically, you are correct, but in reality Hoffman would have voted with the GOP. I don't understand why this is so hilarious. Am I wrong?

Maybe so, I don't know. Do you live in NY-23? Are they pretty moderate?

The departing Rep. became the Army Secretary, so he must have been pretty moderate to be selected by Obama for the job.

a republican picked thru normal, healthy primary processes would have had the legitimacy scozzafava and hoffman lacked and would have been in a much stronger position
