What I am asking is who do you believe really has the influence in the GOP today. That should have been obvious from the discussion we were having.

So let me phrase it that way.....who do you believe really has the influence in the GOP today?

I still haven't discounted the fact the Corzine was a big Hillary supporter up to the very end and was just as definant to giving up as Hillary was..
He spent alot of money on attack ads as Hillary did in her campaign and lost.

I think this speaks more about Hillary than it does Obama.

Influence? Well that is a much more complicated venture that I suspect deserves its own thread in the partisan section.

Nah.....like I said, the Democrats do not put as much emphasis on talk radio and television news that the Republicans do. All you have to do is look at media demographics to recognize that.

Then why do all of you sound like you are copy and pasting talking points vomited out by them on a daily basis?

Why?.....this thread is essentially about WHO controls the GOP. There was certainly a movement from the conservative right that was directly repudiated by this election. Who does the GOP look to now to lead them into 2010?

Care to give an example? I've never seen any of those you mentioned except I have watched a couple youtube clips of Olberman that people have posted.
I watch very little TV....and I never listen to talk radio.

So, then just so I know for sure....you think that one loss signifies devastation?

Devastation? No. I think it says a lot about the influence and power that moderates and independents have.
Don't get me wrong....I don't much care for moderates or independents, but I recognize that politically, they hold most of the power.

It was a huge defeat for those on the far-right that are trying to get the GOP to adopt the shun the moderates and shift to the conservative right strategy. The fact that that strategy was defeated in a district that was so strongly conservative and GOP does not bring much hope to those who want to spread the strategy to the nation as a whole. In many ways D-23 was a test case and it failed miserably for conservatives.
